Can any of you give me some help with this ac 45? Seems to have a commercial frame? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Danny,
* What kind of help are you looking to receive? * Called an "ac45-zero series" by the collectors. It is a known P.38 variation. * It is commercial; but, still made in the late/last days of WWII. Are the proof marks Crown/N or eagle/swastika? Also, is there an Army e/359 acceptance?? * Estimated 1900 made between the S/N range of 025960 & 027659. They came after the "Mod P38" marked guns. * Typically rough in fit and finish. Notice the late war features like the "Cog" hammer with 3 serrations as opposed to the earlier/customary 7 serration style. * The barrel and the locking block should also bear the S/N (or a portion there-of) for the piece to be all matching. * Nice find. * Trust this helps get you going on an ID. Respectfully, Bob |

Danny,
You may want to visit www.P38forum.com and post your pictures there as well. Orv Reichert maintains a database of P38's if you would like to contribute. A number of members here also have P38's :) That is a very helpful site as well. Regards, Fritz. |
For those that don't know about it, P38forum.com is our "sister" website also operated through the generosity of our own Lugerforum benefactor John D. There is also a section for discussion of Walther pocket pistols like PP, PPK and PPKS...
Many of our members are also members over there... including myself... |
