Las Vegas Gun Show
Is this weeks Las Vegas gun show Luger friendly? Does anybody have any experience with this show? I'm going to be in town on business, and wondered if it is worth a look.
Thanks, Bill |
I have been to the Las Vegas Antique Arms show several times and I have never seen very many Lugers. I've seen a lot of other neat stuff at this show, but few Lugers. Maybe a dozen.

Thanks Tracy,
Would you rate it as worth the time for a look see? Bill |
Bill,
If your already in Vegas, I would say it's worth going. I think it's $10 to get in. If you go, let us know your opinion of the show. Tracy |
I have gone to this show a number of times over the last 25 years here in Las Vegas. This the third (3rd) venue change and I think this last one (Mandalay Bay) was a mistake. It use to be at the Riviera Hotel Casino and was easy to get to, parking was okay and there were a lot of vendors/dealers. Now at the Mandalay Bay Resort the parking is bad you have to walk a considerable distance to get in and the vendors were not happy at the last show (and there was not as many dealers). This will make show #2 at Mandalay Bay so we will see tomorrow how it "feels". I will say I have found some gems there over the years but you have to really look because there is a lot of high priced antique arms, flintlock/muzzleloaders, Colt SA, Winchesters, etc. But in there amongst the really high priced stuff, I have found several nice Lugers so I keep going back and looking. Have not scored a thing for a couple years now though. The winter show in Jan. or Feb. is the best show and is usually well dealer represented and attended.

Hi Lloyd. What are the dates of the winter show this year? I attended a couple of years ago, when it coincided with the SHOT show. TH

Tom,
The winter Las Vegas Antique Arms Show will be January 28-30, 2005. It will be happening apparently at the same time as the SHOT show here in Las Vegas. This is usually the better Antique Arms Show of the year. I went to the show on Friday and it is just not the show it use to be. Hopefully, the winter show will resemble previous great shows of years gone by but I am not holding my breath. The venue change to Mandalay Bay has in my opinion really damaged this show unfortunately. |
