Tulsa Gun Show this weekend
I think I see a Luger or two in this picture.

For those that have not been to Tulsa...Thor's photo shows only 1/4 of the entire show floor space...plan to spend at least 2 solid days to see all tables. Nearly 11 acres under a single roof...
And your feet will hurt alot at the end of the day... |
George Luger, Samuel Colt, John Moses Browning, etc. would all be proud. But NOT John Kerry!
|
I think that is Doug Smith in the front row sitting in the easy chair if my eyes aren't playing tricks...I just can't quite focus on the Lugers at this resolution :D . Those are the type of display cases FGS, Inc. uses...

Hey Doc,
Besides Kerry...we Californians have a chance to vote Ms. Barabara Boxer out-of-office in a week or so...maybe one day our CA-State gun shows will begin to look like Reno and Tulsa, again... End of my |
John: I know Doug Smith very well and have sat with him at many gun shows for hours. True Doug does use some glass cases but in most cases they are always closed. And a sure give away to Doug's presence is the fact that all his guns are generally laid out on tables in the open and would be cabled together with co-axial type interlocking cable which none of the above pictured guns are. It is my opinion this is not Doug Smith. I am also of the opinion that this gentleman does not even look like Doug. And I also do not see his usual wooden box of P-38's. I could be wrong but if I were a betting man I would bet that Doug is not in this picture.

The last post is true. The gentleman in the pistol is not Doug Smith. At the April, 2004 show, Doug was not there, but his people were. They only had 2/3 tables further to the left on the lower level.

thanks Sam... You are correct...I was only going by the cases... I didn't zoom in on the photo until you posted... and that isn't Doug. However, the FGS glass cases at the Chantilly show were at the end table. The table where Doug was sitting was "cabled" as I recall...
I saw that wooden crate of P-38's at the Chantilly show...with the crate sitting right next to Doug's chair... and wondered if it would fit in the trunk of my car :D but I was sure that the weight would be a dead giveaway to my wife that I had done more than window shop |
