Very sweet and nice guns!

I like how you bolded the wording so it was easier to read!

I share your interest. Imagine where these were? Jim

Ida-Alp 10-27-2004 06:26 PM

Ron--Can you explain what C. E. I. 571 signifies?? Thanks--Al

Ron Smith 10-27-2004 06:31 PM

Al is it on a pistol? If so, is it on the grip strap? I will have to wait until I get home this evening to look it up. Will get back to you if I find it.

Ron,

Quite interesting! I have a 1911 Erfurt SN 2607 marked 12 T.S.1.205 (12 Train Battalion 1st Sanitat Co. weapon #205) which has been "X" out and remarked 102.R.61 (102 Inf. Reg, 6th Co, weapon #1). This gun was formerly owned by Jan Still, and is featured in his 1999 calender.

Pete Ebbink 10-27-2004 08:13 PM

Hey Ron,

Mere Lugers with graffiti...

I jest, of course...very nice little collection. Thanks for posting...

I may have a lead on a very nice WWI holster (for 4") with unit markings...I will know more in a few days. Will send ya a PM with the info. then...

Those Lugers of yours look like butt-naked ladies... :D

Regards,

Pete...

Jimmie and Hugh, It's kind of interesting to think about where these 1911s were. And to think that they could have been in the same room together at some point 90 years ago.

Pete, I have a 98th Infantry unit marked 1915 dated holster for the 1911. And have proper dated holsters for all, but the 1914 that Ted is fixing for me. That's why I was hot after the 1914 that was on ebay, that went for $300+. Too rich for my wallet.
The 1914 came in a scarce 6th Dragoon 1910 dated holster. Jan Still has a matching pistol. And wanted the holster.
I would be interested in what you find.

Ron

Al, I can't find a reference for the C.E.I marking. If the C is actually a G. It could change the whole picture. Can you post photo of the marking?
Ron

Ida-Alp 10-28-2004 09:31 AM

Thanks Ron--I posted some pics for you and hope to get some clearer ones today. This pistol was taken off a German soldier and is part of a display I'm researching for a museum.--Al

Al, If you are having trouble posting the photos? E-mail them to me.

Those Lugers of yours look like butt-naked ladies... Pete, I think the proper term is BUCK naked. If the Lady is disrobed, it stands to reason her butt is naked. If what you say is true, you are in serious need of a therapist! Seek help! Luger Porn...What will we think of next? Where does it end?

Seriously, Nice display Ron...Thanks for sharing. Jerry Burney

Ron Smith 10-28-2004 02:14 PM

END!!!? :D

Jerry, Thanks Bud, I'm getting a pretty good accumulation going. Hope I can afford some more. Always looking.

Ron, good work. Time for me to start looking after myself.

I am not completely "hooked" on unit ID Lugers, but I do find them fascinating. Here are a couple I have that you might enjoy.
