Where can I get new grips?
 

I'm looking for wood grips to replace the plastic one's I currently have. I'm looking to spend $30-40. I figured some of you all have bought a set or two. Thanks, Marc

They all had walnut. I'm looking for a lighter color like the picture at the top left.

Thor340.aol.com... They're all walnut, and I believe he stains them to be whatever colour is needed, so my guess is that the grips you purchase will be really light and you stain them to suit your taste.

The ones I buy are unstained and I darken them to taste! What's your Receipe Dok, I think you wanted Blonde/Light Brown on your rework! You won em in the Luger trivia test!

Might have your Gypsy/Jewel to the bluer by Monday? It could happen assuming I got the machine gunning fixed! Ted

Medium Strawing on the six (6) following parts:

Extractor (Item 3 in your diagram)

Ejector (Item 16 in your diagram)

Magazine Catch (Item 21 in your diagram)

Locking Bolt (Item 25 in your diagram)

Trigger (Item 26 in your diagram)

Safety Lever (Item 32 in your diagram)


And Safety Bar polished to white (Item 31 in your diagram)


And all the gold stamps and the little Ted "TDJ" touches.

I get them from CMR in an unstained state (they dont have any right now) They MIGHT have the stained ones, I sub them out to Hugh, who for a very reasonable fee, he removes that hideous back edge that all repros (except NILLE-GRIFF) have and then recheckers and returns them to me. I stain them to customers desires. I dont see them outright but save them for my reworks. I would if I had more. I purchase them once a year from CMR. Hugh may or maynot have some left. I have tried to convince Hogue grips to make them to no avail. Occassionaly you see them on ebay or gunbroker.com. I wish I had more, but I am really getting the impression that I need to stock more of them. Sorry, I wasnt more help? I charge $50 for them and NILLE GRIFF offer excellent ++ grips from Germany but they are high once you add on the shipping from Germany around $90 per pair, but they are the finest as far as material and fit. They usually have to be had fitted. Marvin Cook has a pair he will sell you...... JUST KIDDING......I dont think you could pry those away with a tractor. I can supply grips like the ones pictured above on Marvins gun checkered 20 LPI all the way to the edge for $50. These grips are made of Cocobolo, not Walnut, and in my opinion are much prettier than Walnut. At present I only have two pair of very light "blond" ones, first come first served. I have read all the posting about the grips and you have seen the pictures of my Nill grips and they are as close to the original I have seen, but they are pricy. To get a nice pair that have been reworked to original, get a set from Hugh! His work is fantastic! He can take a pair of the repro and make them look original. There are some grips being sold on the market by SARCO and Inter-Ordnance for approx. $15 a pair, but the checkering is very course and they don't usually fit very well without some work. The price is good, but they look like "crap". Get a pair from Hugh! If he is sold out, give Tom Heller a call; his number is on the Links & Resource area.
