Berthier M.16 Carbine .22 identification help

10 Attachment(s)
I have a Berthier M.16 carbine in .22 that I need help identifying. I cannot find any references or photos to a tube fed .22 conversion. Rifle functions well is in good shape. I was going to start preservation process on it to clean it up a bit.

Was also looking for any insight on the value of this piece of history.

Thanks in advance.

Appears as though someone fitted a Remington 22 action inside of the Berthier carbine action. Clever. Probably done stateside.

Ok, did a little takedown tonite and discovered that the mystery doner is a Stevens model 66. The more parts I removed, the more clues were uncovered. Everything uncovered was still in pretty decent shape and the fit and function of the action was nicely adapted to the Berthier stock and hardware.

Once I clean it a little better, probably gonna take it to the range. She's very solid.

Cleaned up the metal and the wood. Came out rather nice. Merely removed all the old oils and dirt on the wood and cleaned the metal with Hoppes 9 oil and a brush.
