One ad says it's refinsihed...the other ad says original...:(

Absolutely amazing how they metamorphasize into original over-night. Must be magic! And how much they appreciate in value. 400% from one end of the country to another. I knew that the seller was a bit high on his prices and liberal with his discriptions, but......

What amazes me is how Pete always seems to come up with these little pearls of wisdom. How do you find the time to check all the auction houses, gun broker, auction arms, all the dealer web sites and cross reference this information? Amazing!

Sorry guys...cannot take the credit for this one. Another member that was bidding on this piece at RIA alerted me...

Randall M. Bessler 05-09-2005 06:44 PM

There were several Lugers in the sale that were described with 'problems' that did not exist. The Krieghoff did have the wrong grips but I had a set of the right ones.
It is always a good idea to inspect any gun in person sold at auction. All auction companies (under terms and conditions of sale), only guarantee 3 things, make, model and serial. Everthing else is up for grabs.
Sometines you get good deals!
Best!

sounds good Randy, I wondered, as you have always treated me with honesty and professionalism, and so wondered at the 'discrepancies".

Thank you for coming to the forum and commenting!

Wear along the left side in both the RIA photo and the photo on Randy's site. Does one see this type of wear from holster use ? Or just over aggressive cleaning/rubbing...?

Pete.
My photo was take with a different camera and probably different lighting. I have a problem with glare looking like high edge wear.
Gun should be seen in person, photos no matter how good are not the same.
Best!

Hi Randy,

I totally agree. Same gun photo'd at different times and with different equipment sure can make the gun look totally different.

I try to see any luger in person, if possible, before I buy...

Glad to hear that not all the RIA lugers were "not legit".

Regards,

Pete...:typing:
