1902 US Test Holster

I recently aquired a excellent quality reproduction 1902 US Test holster.
An original is just a pipe dream down here in NZ.
I note that the Holster is left handed and photos of originals in both Bender's holster book and Kenyon's Multi-national pistol book both show the holster as left handed.
Is this correct, and if so why or is it just that living on the underside of the planet and being upside down that I am confused.

I can tell you all that the cresent moon is back to front down here. :roflmao:

butt forward was the carry of the day many times for the military, so left hand was right hand...

Thanks Ed.
It must have been difficult to draw,
The "repo" holster is very nice, but still a repo.
It is made in the USA and seems to match exactly the photos I have of the original. Only thing missing is the RI Arsenal marks on the back,
Thanks for your help

Albert sure has some nice stuff. Would love to see the other side of this test luger.

Hi Doc,

I am note sure if Albert owns this one or not. I think the photo was in his "Interesting Firearms" section and not his "Personal Collection" section. Albert gets to visit many other advanced collectors around the world and photograph some of their pieces for research, as well.

Randy Bessler has this nice repro for sale...note it does not have the "El Paso Saddlery" info....

Unfortunately, the M1900 Test Luger which is shown on my web site that Pete has posted in this discussion is not in my personal collection - I wish it was in my personal collection! It belongs to a collector who I know and it is the only Luger in this collection. The right side of the pistol is in slightly better condition than the side which is shown. If I had to be 'picky', the only two distractions are the small pit mark on the left side of the barrel and a patch of blue missing on the front grip strap where it had made contact with a holster.

Albert
