AIMCO LUGER

Does anybody know the phone number or website
address of AIMCO? Are they still making lugers?

They certainly are; try the links section in the forum for an e-mail address. I contacted them recently and they responded promptly

PeterLiu,

Welcome to the forum... In the event that you don't know where the links and resources page is, you get there by taking the link on the left frame of the homepage of our website.

...Lugerforum home page link

Many of the newer members are unfamiliar with the homepage and the rest of this site and only visit the discussion pages... I hope to change that in the near future

They are indeed still in business. I got an email from Mr. Romo last month and they plan to have a .45 at the 2004 Shot show and have them in production in early 2004. I am starting to save my money now. <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />

Boy, wouldnt it be sweet if it came in rust blued steel and strawed parts! But I bet it will be a white Luger. Even at that, I will have to acquire one, it might even make me go back to shooting bowling pins, a 45 is the caliber of choice for that game. I hope that gun will be modeled after the DWM model. I wonder how they came up with specs for this gun. Think they may have gotten permission to copy the gun from the Shreveport Museum? Makes me wonder! How much will the gun run? I seem to remember it would be around $1K

Considering the amount of time they are taking, I can't imagine that they are doing anything less than engineering the gun from scratch. Demonstrates a certain amount of dedication, don't you think?

Well Heck Dwight, Next we can have 45 Artillerys, Navys, and even Carbines. I think they would have to be registered with the ATF if they make them with new stock boards, notice the current AIMCOs DONT have a slot cut in the area that is the stock lug, they have stock lug that are not grooved for a stock, hence they dont work with a stock iron. I do like the idea of a 357 Sig, how about a Luger in 44 Automag, a Luger you could hunt a MOOSE WITH!!

Thor, I'll take one of each, please!

Thor,

I don't know about 44 Automag, but AIMCO made at least one Luger chambered for 10 mm Auto. This was during the latter part of the period when Mitchell was the distributor. All you have to do is shake down Mitchell for it. No doubt one of the the bigger cheeses at Mitchell has it squirreled away. Mitchell had no plans to put it into production but they were planning a 40 S&W version that apparently died when the distributorship passed to Stoeger.
