Hi John, My guess is that the frame was from Commercial Luger #15400 and that everything else was numbered to match. 1916 Navy Luger frames are dated on the left frame rail.

A Commercial Luger with a serial number of 15400 would have been a Model 1900 with a grip safety and no stock lug. In my opinion, the Eagle/2 Krieghoff marking is bogus. This gun is a total fabrication from parts.
P.S. The frame is marked on the front with the serial number, it is just hard to see in the photos. |

I emailed seller and asked him to post the serial # on trigger strap.

Navy Marked Luger on GB Auction
Seller has posted picture today of serial # on GB auction 436253647. The # looks to me like the original # was 540 and a 1 and 0 were added to make it 15400.
An earlier comment suggested this type of scenario, What do you think? still having trouble posting correct link, Ron has posted this link correctly Aldo35 |
I don't think the gun is worth the asking price. Just my opinion.

Navy Marked Luger on GB Auction
Someone paid $1550. Go figure.
This thread should have been in Navy not in Krieghoff forum, my mistake. Aldo35 |
