Swiss magazine loading tool...

The lid of the cleaning tool.

It's not in the manuals but it was officially recommended after the first 00's were issued.
In 1951 another tool was patented by Oskar Stauss just that one never went in production. Other tools in use were half round "hooks" that clip in place behind the follower knob.

Photobucket is in some kind of error now so the picture might sometimes disappear for a while.

Neat tool. I'll bet that it is more comfortable to use than the standard tool.

With the large diameter of the lid shown, it might be a problem using it to get the last couple of round into mag using it; but certainly better than nothing. I guess that the standard German loading tools, didn't appear until the military acceptance in 1908? Comments? TH

The German loading tool was never used in the Swiss military. The screwdriver, the cleaning rod plus brushes and the grip handle lid did the same thing.

I tried it out with the lid and it works well till the last cartridge as it slides off center when fully down.

Now that one looks like it would be very comfortable to use. I would love to try out one of these.
