Rick,

I have a few photos of this gun... as I recall it shows some of the individual parts.

A former Lugerforum member, Patrick Villiers sent them to me a couple of years ago.

I will have to search my poorly organized photo archive, but when I find them I will post them.

I say it's almost time for the centennial P.08. Mauser would be fine. Just plain, rust-blued, strawed, 4", walnut-gripped 9mm Lugers, please.

Family sends me a "Waffen Franconia" gun magazine from Germany every year, last one had a 100 year celebration of the 98 system. They took unissued/mint 98 & 98ks, completely rebuilt, new accessories(stock, sights, leather, ect), were selling them for about $900. They were also selling Mauser rebuilds P08s for about $700. These were straight arsenal refinished guns w/o embellishments.

you probably won't find any Lugers in the next issue of the Franconia catalog... We got the word a couple of years ago that the source of these Lugers dried up... more than likely they were already imported here in the U.S.

A new batch of P-08's by Mauser is a great idea. And while we are dreaming, I vote for a new batch of Kreighoff's too
