Just wondering (way off topic)
 

This isn't luger related so if you aren't interested I don't want to waste your time. What is it about an ice cold beer(s) and a good cigar that is so soothing and settling? A friend gave me a box of Dunhills and I tend to keep beer around so it was just a matter of time before the two got together. This evening I could have gone shooting, washed my truck, or sat on the porch with my ugly dog and smoke a cigar and support the economy in the hops/barley sector. Being the conservative republican that I am I decided to support the economy in areas mentioned and to teach a kid down the road the work ethic by demonstrating to him the value of money by letting him earn it by washing my truck. So I stimulated the economy in the agriculture and labor sectors, gave myself a cleansing and mental enema from all the crap I had to put up with today at work,
and had some quality time with Axl.I'll go shooting tomorrow. Later.

Sounds like you are on the road to recovery. Of course like you I don't have anything else to do so I though I would respond to your post. I am sorry to say cigars never done anything for me but beer is another thing. In my younger days I may have drank a beer but just for effect only and not because I liked the taste. It taste lousy! Is the beer you drink one of those non-alcoholic types, you know you get the taste but not the effect? I could never understand how anyone could or would want to drink a non-alcoholic beer! Just don't make sense to me. The important thing is you had a satisfying afternoon and did help the economy of the younger generation. Since your mind is cleansed have you ever heard of a 3 Reich firm named TH. Klatte? I am trying to research this company but have not found much. I know your capabilities are way beyond mine so I thought I would ask. As you can see I am setting here in The Great State of Tennessee pecking on this keyboard communicating with who knows, people across the world. I plan on staying up after midnight tonight and watch the meteor showers. They are supposed to be spectacular. Give Axl a pet for me. My specialty is Walker Coon dogs, the best dog ever made. They run all night and sleep in day. My current dog is TJ. I will post a picture of him.

Ron, I've never seen one like him. I have a pretty one and a plain one. The pretty one is a boob and the plain one is smart. They are symbiotic and could not exist without each other. Over 100lbs of dog at my feet constantly. Not only do I have to watch how much I drink. I have to watch where I step while I walk. Heal Toe, Heal Toe, Jump, Heal Toe, Heal Toe, Jump...

G.W. Bart is a smart mutt. He's just stubborn and has the typical selective hearing problem, like most Labs.
His mama was a registered German Wirehaired Pointer. His daddy was a traveling salesman.
I got him free at about 10 weeks of age. The day I brought him home he went to a classic point on a carpenter ant, crawling on the patio.
And I know what you mean. I don't know how many times I've tripped over him. Always has to be right at your feet.

Ron, It took me two days to get my wife to look at your dog. She didn't laugh or say it was ugly. She said "cute, it's not ugly" The attitude shows through... No ugly dog there. Although I was pretty impressed! Just having fun! He does look cool!

My daughter calls him Wookie. As in the Chewbaka character in Star Wars. I get all kinds of strange responses from people, when they first see him. He even loves our cats. He grooms them.
My wife has a bunch of squirrel 'yard pets'she feeds. She yells at him when he chases them. I told her not to worry. He would just clean them, and let them go.

Ron, She is an animal lover. We have an immature hawk taking his meals over our front yard and she is not happy. My Dad and I used to pop them, however, I think there is enough room for him to move on. On that subject. I still have the 42 springfield. If he doesn't move by Christmas I may have to scare him off. I let my dogs out to chase him ,howeer, I am also concerned they might join the car chasing street dogs. You would'nt believe how fast they can be. I take the injured to thier owners... You know how they feel about that and I. Most of the time they have found good homes... Somewhere else. Good Neighbors???. Enough said on that rant. Thank You Guys!

I would like to take an unofficial survey on gun collectors/owners pets ?

Are there any gun owner/collectors that have cats ?
(The one your other half might have doesnâ??t count)

Over the years I have met many gun collectors and I canâ??t recall any of them having a CAT
always a DOG or something, never a cat.

Jamese, We've got 3 cats. I like cats. And I've owned guns since I was 10. My first pet was an tiger stripped gray Tom cat. I think I was 5.

I have had several cats although I do not have one at present. I like both dogs and cats. The list of animals I have had around at one time or another would make a small zoo.

I have always found it odd that a lot of guys don't like cats? Too independent I guess, but they are really a true hunter, I can't imagine going after a lion or leopard!

My wife is a licensed Vet Tech, so we have lots of animals, which has always been fine with me, <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> We have 4 cats (2 is a good number, but what do you do?) and 3 dogs, one uglier than RK's the other two fairly nice looking.

And my wife used to work in the exotics ward, working on raptors, eagles etc., that had been shot, hit by cars, etc., it is a federal crime to hurt or kill a raptor (eagle, hawks, etc) :)
