Possibly a zero series?

lugerholsterrepair 05-08-2016 12:18 AM

Might be a P-39

spacecoast 05-08-2016 07:11 AM

Some of those P38 stamps are very, very light.

Upon closer inspection I believe it is a P.39
It had the lifting strap removed as I can see the holes on the top of the flap where
The stitching had been. I do not see any p.39 stamps inside the holster though.

Damn guess Ill have to buy a CZ38 now.

Some of the stitching is missing and it's far from pristine but still
A solid holster.

How hard to find are these holsters?

I will put some photos on today. I guess there is still a possibility that it is
A P.38 holster I'll need the experts help to determine.

Check the width of the magazine pouch. P 39's are a different size.

Here is an overall Pic and one photo showing where the lifting strap was either removed or broken.
No remnants of the strap remain.

Here is a photo its very faint it is there though I can also make out partial date 194?

wayne8661 05-09-2016 07:57 AM

Sorry to be in such a hurry to ask for help. The answers were there in front of me the whole time.
Just needed some time away from the toddlers to sort it out myself.

The date is 1943 and the maker mark is the the Oakleaf with 9 inside a bearskin.

Still no P.38 stamping though

Picked up a P.38 hardshell a couple of Tulsa shows ago marked cgu 40 and Waffen Amted 47. Tt's not for a CZ 38 and never had anything but a P.38 in it. The underlying brown color is showing through the black dye but otherwise, it's complete and solid. Haven't had one this early in a good ten years. Of course, it isn't stamped P.38.

Wayne,

The maker mark on your holster, the "bearskin/oakleaf/9" is for Christof Neuner, Klagenfurt. The waffenampt should be "WaA938."

Neuner used this WaA number from 1942-1943.
In 1941, they used WaA757. This maker did make P39t holsters as well, but they were dated 1940, and used "WaA757."
