This just in ... Commercial, 9mm, SN72753, EG Rework
Ron,
Purely FYI, for the DB. Just took delivery of a 1908 Commercial. Oddly, an East German rework. CAI import, so it the importation was shorty after the reunification. Here are basic images: http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...753%20Left.jpg http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...53%20Right.jpg http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...nnon%20Top.jpg http://i295.photobucket.com/albums/m...n%20Bottom.jpg |
Neat gun, but the serial number is in the range of a 1914 Commercial. A 1908 Commercial doesn't have a stock lug. Actually, a 1914 Commercial is more difficult to find than a 1908.

Import marked, refinished, DDR rebuild FrankenLuger. That said, one of the better EG rebuilds (they made a good attempt to scrub and renumber parts salvaged from junked Lugers). Toggle pin is mismatched. Rear toggle link still shows a faint Erfurt inspection stamp. Side plate and locking block appear to be original (numbered in commercial style w/correct number), but had serial numbers added in the military style. Magazine is matching, but likely a DDR replacement. Magazine body clearly DDR, VEB Ernst Thalmann State Enterprise production. Still, it would make a good "filler" in a collection until said collector could find a better example. I'll try and get some more pictures up that show all this.
