Well, after paying for it on a monthly basis for 16 months, I finally have it. Suffice it to say, I think it will be very hard to upgrade. George Anderson gets credit for the photos.

The ultimate bar-b-que gun! Nice acquisition my friend...well worth the wait. A magnificent, world class piece.
|
Tom, fantastic HK. Does this gun have provenence? Does Hermann G. come to mind? Am I seeing things or is the pistol engraved in the white?
|
I am without words......stunning
|
"WOW" "WOW""WOW" spechless I have started to drool at the mouth...!!!!!
|
The gun was a presento to a Dr. Bohle, the Gauleiter des Alles Auslandern. He was slated to be gauleiter of England. After Goering was unable to defeat the RAF, Operation Sea Lion was cancelled and he fell into obscurity. He was tried after the war for "Aiding and abetting", served six months and was released.
The gun is plated with an alloy I have yet to identify conclusively and the grips are elephant tusk ivory. Interestingly, the HK side frame logo is finely engraved instead of the normal marking. |
Tom,
Congratulation. Simply a beautiful Luger! You should be really proud of your Jewel. Cheers, Mauro |

I wonder, has this pistol ever been displayed in a book or magazine? You surely don't see one like this everyday... Thanks for sharing such a treasure. Jerry Burney |

Tom, show a photo of the rear grip strap. I think it's the best part of the whole deal.

Simply Grand Tom... Congrats. Any history on this piece?
...and I thought the Navy that is your avatar was the gun to top any collection... Silly me! |

I purchased the gun from Doug Smith of FGS Inc. It was a part of his private collection, which may be the finest Luger collection in the world.
The gun was PART of a set of presentation guns..its mate and the presentation box are in the southeastern USA. As I recover financially from this purchase, I am going to attempt to acquire the rest of the set. Back strap pictures, taken by my good friend George Anderson, are here. I do not believe this gun has been displayed or published before. That may change. Tom A |
Simply beautiful Tom, thank you for sharing it with us.
