Check the technical information pages for a link to a discussion and photos on witness marks.
NICE Luger! |
Hi Peter!
OK - on the bottom of the reciever - where the barrel joins the cannon assembly - there may be a "groove" that appears like it was struck with "chisel" of sorts, and would "align" both parts together... As in this: http://gallery.rennlist.com/lugeralb.../t10.thumb.jpg Your's may have a groove - or may not (as in this photo - there is no "witness mark").... Peter - I can't wait to see any other photos you post... Simply outstanding from what I can see of your HK so far.. Congratulations!!! John |
Thanks!
There is no groove on the bottom of the barrel... Great Stuff Peter!
I think I am in love all over again! Damn, I think I am beginning to like Kriegs as much as Navies...I am finding that they eat $$ quicker than Navies, but one can ALWAYS get more money. To paraphrase an old hippie saying from the '60's, "Times with Lugers and no money will be a lot better than times with money and no Lugers." And that, my friends, is the truth! Tom A. |
Peter,
great pictures. I can only hope that when I upgrade my computer and get a digital camera, my pictures will be as good as yours. You did yourself proud on the Krieg too. Big Norm |
Peter,
FANTASTIC!!!! It is in excellent condition from what I can see... What an excellent example.... I also noticed the markings on the barrel and believe that the guage marks run parallel to the barrel length (?) - a small detail, but it is just terrific..... Congratulations!!!! As well - my thanks for the outstanding pictures.....!!! <img border="0" alt="[thumbsup]" title="" src="graemlins/bigok.gif" /> |
