Check the technical information pages for a link to a discussion and photos on witness marks.

NICE Luger!

Hi Peter!

OK - on the bottom of the reciever - where the barrel joins the cannon assembly - there may be a "groove" that appears like it was struck with "chisel" of sorts, and would "align" both parts together... As in this:

http://gallery.rennlist.com/lugeralb.../t10.thumb.jpg

Your's may have a groove - or may not (as in this photo - there is no "witness mark")....

Peter - I can't wait to see any other photos you post... Simply outstanding from what I can see of your HK so far.. Congratulations!!!

John

Thanks!
There is no groove on the bottom of the barrel...

Great Stuff Peter!
I think I am in love all over again!
Damn, I think I am beginning to like Kriegs as much as Navies...I am finding that they eat $$ quicker than Navies, but one can ALWAYS get more money.
To paraphrase an old hippie saying from the '60's, "Times with Lugers and no money will be a lot better than times with money and no Lugers."

And that, my friends, is the truth!

Peter,
great pictures. I can only hope that when I upgrade my computer and get a digital camera, my pictures will be as good as yours. You did yourself proud on the Krieg too.

Peter,

FANTASTIC!!!! It is in excellent condition from what I can see... What an excellent example.... I also noticed the markings on the barrel and believe that the guage marks run parallel to the barrel length (?) - a small detail, but it is just terrific.....

Congratulations!!!!

As well - my thanks for the outstanding pictures.....!!!
