Interarms Lugers

Today I was lucky enough to get my hands on these two beauties. Both have the American Eagle on over the chamber.
One in 9mm with 6" barrel serial number 11.002891 has seen some use while the .30 caliber 6" barrel serial number 10.001891 looks to have been test fired only. I must say that the hi polished bluing on these are really beautiful. No boxes or paperwork so I'm wondering when both were made. |
Congrats on the new "twins". Are these going to be shooters for you? If so, I believe that you will enjoy the experience.....I know I sure do.

They were made in 1973. Both are quite early in Oberndorf's production and in the 06/73 Swiss like pattern.
These Lugers are quite well made. Marc |

Thanks for the info on the date!! |
If you look closely at your serial number on the 9mm Luger, it's actually:
"11.00.2891" The extra dot was only seen for a brief period of time. Later, the extra "." was eliminated... |

Posted with Mauro's permission the Certificate he just sent me on the .30 Mauser.

Now I am confused....an easy thing to do. According to Marc, your two Lugers were made in 1973, yet the certificate sent by Mario states this one Luger was shipped to Interarms on 26 Feb. 1971. What am I missing??
|
Marc made a mistake, but '73 or '71 is pretty close. ;)
Mauro has the "exact" data. |
Yes - your gun is a very early one - one of the first shipped. 1971 (per the log that Mauro has) would be accurate...
Mauro has the shipping logs from the factory in Oberndorf. Remember that they had to make their way to Alexandria (where Interarms was located) be accounted for and then shipped to dealers for sale to consumers. Marc |
