1937 dated Krieghoff

Hi all,

Any opinions on this 1937 Krieghoff listed today on Collectors Firearms out of Houston Texas?

Note the partial serial numbers stamped on the toggle, take down lever and side plate. Is this correct for a 1937 Krieg?

BTW, I have NO interest in acquiring this Krieg.

It's a little doggy, but looks legit.

Thanks Tom.
I didn't realize that 1937 Kriegs could have the serial numbers stamped on the outside of the side plate, top of the toggle and the outside of the takedown lever.
I guess you learn something everyday.

Mike

Mike,
I saw your post, and it hit close to home. I bought this 1937 dated Krieghoff, s/n 9287, from Collectors on 10/20/05 after work that day. All matching, mint bore, perfect grips, and one original excellent condition matching numbered magazine, (not the + spare). Included in the deal, was a very nice condition 1937 WaA 387 holster by Genschow & Co, Berlin. Drive out was $2300, don't see those prices anymore. You mentioned the numbering for the side plate, the middle toggle link, and the takedown lever. For the side plate, "87" is found on the exterior and on the interior narrow flat surface. The middle toggle link has "87" on the top surface and on the inside relieved area. Take down lever, "87" on the exterior, and "87" on the interior, just above the concave cup. I think in Gibson's book the two digit interior stamp is seen, but is uncommon.

On the way out, I saw the rest of the collection they had bought. Looked it over, and bought a 1918 DWM, s/n 2702g, mint condition, with the original two numbered matching wood base mags. It had a 1913 dated holster that had part of the front cut away. Price was $1550, put that on layaway as I recall. Still own both, and glad of it. Did sell the cutaway 1913 holster some years ago.
