1920 Commercial Artillery
4 Attachment(s)
Just picked up this and wanted to confirm information.
It has a double date. 1917 manufacture date and 1920 government stamp. Serial number is 6969A. Would like to narrow down manufacture date. Also has "Germany" stamp on back of frame. All serial numbers match. Since it is a rework the magazine has no serial number or proof stamps. She is in excellent shape. Action is perfect. With snap cap in place you can see the GELADEN. Any additional info welcome. |
Looks military to me...numbering style. I have a 1917/1920 Arty with its stock lug ground off.

Very nice it survived as an Imperial to be converted to a Weimar!!! Luger reduntacy at it finest~~!!
|
Looks like military acceptance stamps.
I think the suffix is "K". |
Correction
I believe you are right. 6969K is the serial number. Thanx.
|
Yes I think this "arty" started out as a 1914 military version and then converted to commercial sales for the U.S.

W, Your LPO8 was manufactured for German Army in 1917 and still in there posession in 1920. The only thing COMMERICAL about it is that it was sometime later exported to the US (Germany marked) for commerical sale. TH
