I have a luger that I bought yesterday.it is in 30 luger and I think a commerical dwm??.
it seems all the parts are matching but the mag.ser # 645*with a K under that and under that stamped germany.
any info would be a great help as this is my first luger.

yes, it appears to be a 1920's era commerical, made for USA import (germany stamping).

It has a Crown N on the left? anywhere else?

yes on the toggle kind of on its left side and on the barrel above the sn with the K.

nice gun, grips do not look original....

I agree with Howard. The grips are modern aftermarket, but the checkering looks like it was done by convicts with nail files. If you want that beautiful wood to match the rest of your Luger, send the grips off to Hugh Clark to be refinished and recheckered in the correct pattern. Those grips do have beautiful grain in them... most likely walnut... but whoever checkered them was a rank amatuer... A really nice looking commercial. Congrats on the acquisition.

From the photos that you posted here and over on the leverguns forum, it appears that the holster is a modern reproduction. The luger looks to be nice and should be great fun to shoot. I second the motion to send the grips to Hugh Clark to have them re-checkered; he does fantastic work!!! Congratulations!!!

thanks.I knew about the holster and in time I can get the grips changed out or fixed.
I loaded up some rounds yesterday for the stoeger 9mm and hope to shoot it on friday.

Am I correct, the magazine is the Navy type.

It appears to be a commonly seen aftermarket mag. I can't remember the maker, possibly Triple K in Mexico.

both the mags are meggar.italy I think??.

You are correct that the type of "knobs" on the luger magazine shown are in the Navy pattern, but they Navy didn't issue this type of mag bottom in plastic. So if they are plastic, they are probably Mec-Gar mags.
