Honestly, didn't most Krieghoffs stay on the ground with support troops ?

And he must'a landed on a sub after ejecting - cause the anchor on the top makes it definately a Navy Luger, too... This has got to be a "one of a kind" Luger, for sure...!!! <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />

As I understand yes - as the Flak Corp and other units were a part of the Luftwaffe. Also, given the size of the Luger - I have read that it was too bulky for most pilots, who preferred a smaller personal firearm. I think Bill M. also posted on this subject - or was in an e-mail to me? Bill M. - thoughts/comments???

I only collect Mauser Lugers. Pictures like that make me want a KRIEGHOFF as well. Will this addiction never end? When are enough Lugers enough? I ask you? What is this sickness? Have I contracted...

Hmmm - I wasn't gonna say this but..... You should see a really nice Krieg in person..!!! About that pic - and not to nit "pic" (pun intended [img]smile.gif[/img] )..

The blue is splotchy (could be the photo?),
The trigger guard is bent;
The wear on the cannon (under the sideplate) doesn't match the wear on the toggle knurls;
Why is the indent in the safety detent marked in white?;
Why doesn't the straw on the takedown match the trigger/safety?
Why is the takedown resting at the wrong angle - is it fully locked?

I'd study the photo longer - but you get the idea

On the old Forum when this German auction site was first posted, I recall someone (can't remember whom) stated that the European gun collectors are more concerned with bore and working order and are not as sensitive to refinished and touched up works as we Americans might be...

Can any new Forum members that live in Europe make comment about this point ? [img]eek.gif[/img]

You critical veteran eye automatically picked up the defects while I saw what I wanted to see -- a pristine KRIEGHOFF.

I think you just gave me valuable lesson. <img src="graemlins/c.gif" border="0" alt="[ouch]" />

Instead of looking with emotion, a newbie such as I must look critically at any Luger, not just the ones I plan to purchase. I guess I still have much to learn. But learn it I will.

Aww - thanks.. [img]smile.gif[/img] Seriously, I guess maybe I'm a little critical - but as some know, Kriegs are what I truly enjoy collecting - so I take a somewhat "jaded" view of a picture - and am drawn to what I see in a picture as it compares to what I have or have personally looked at...

Kriegs are something special, to be sure (at least to me, anyway [img]smile.gif[/img] ) and they still have something of an "aura" around them. But - I'm a little biased... [img]tongue.gif[/img] [img]eek.gif[/img]
