Stirring..

Well, the site has been kindda slow. Let's see if I can stir things up. One of my newest:

Very, very nice. Thanks for sharing. Bill

Gee Fred, You certainly stirred things up - feelings of envy! Regards, Norm

Well, the left mag looks okay from the base, the right one is forced appearing...
not sure if I like the mag loader, but I have been fooled by krieg tools before. ed |
Fred
Wonderful gun! Just a quick question. On your matching mags, how did Krieghoff indicate the spare magazine? As I do not see a + or a numeral on the base of either one or did they just not do that? I have never seen a Krieg with 2 matching mags! Cool Bob |
Bob,
Gibson, pg 56: " In closing, it should be pointed out that very few Krieghoff magazines have been observed with an indication of first or second magazine." Same with numbers on the hold open. Gibson, pg 105: " ...If numbered latches do indeed exist they are very rare." The one on this pistol is proofed but unnumbered. Ed; Must be the light. Close examination of the mag bottoms under 8x shows the numbers, font, size, placement and depth to be identical. No apparent scrubbing of the bottom face. FN |
I have a 1937 Krieg with a numbered hold open latch. So they do exist but apparently rarely. Bill

Bill,
My 1937 is numbered too. Maybe they stopped doing that when war started? Anybody with a 1938-1939HK and numbered HO? FN |
Hi Fred, I very much doubt that you'll be hearing from anyone with a 1939 Krieghoff. Regards, Norm
|
LOL... You're right. Norme. I wasn't thinking. I've been kindda immersed in Mausers lately

The loading tool is in fact an original HK and the acceptance mark is an orginal late date mark. This is interesting in that the dated chamber gives an indication when the late acceprance mark was stamped and issued. Thank you for sharing the information and photos. I really would like to add an original HK LE/2 late date marked tool to my schraubenzieher collection. There is still hope that they are out there. Dave L.

Fred, I wonder if you would be kind enough to send me a good photo, or two-closeup of your Krieghoff tool for my archives?
Stunning rig! Very nice...Makes my 1937 look like junk. Jerry Burney |
Jerry,
I'll try. but something has changed. A button got moved? Right now I can't get any extreme close-ups for some reason.. I'll have to fuss around with it. Nice yes, but your 1937 is still the miracle gun. Fred |
