To repair or not to repair that is the qeustion.

I have a luger holster marked Regensburg 1916, not sure what it says above this the first word starting with an O and ending with what looks like a K or an R and second word I think is Verh?
Anyway the belt straps on the back, one is free at the bottom and the other is holding on by 3 stitches.
Part of me wants to restore it to its former glory but part of me wants to preserve its obvious history???... Am torn

Not sure why the photo posted in upside down......maybe it's because I live in the Southern Hemisphere.

Jerry Burney here in the states will fix this - finding the right person to repair has to be a careful person, they can't just be a shoe repair and zap it.

Jerry will repair it with proper flaxen thread and uses thread right into the proper holes without screwing it up.

Leaving it as proper history is fine and acceptable for most things, but for something like this, I vote fix it, but fix it right.

Right on Ed. Jerry B is the only one I would ever let work on my holsters. His work is amazing. Bill

I have sent a P08 holster for repair, to Jerry, from NZ. You will receive first class workmanship and service.

Shearwater6 03-25-2013 09:33 PM

Thanks Mark. It's on his work bench right now!

Tim, Your holster is being boxed for shipping. A new belt loop was necessary on the right. The leather bridges were broken and wouldn't hold stitching. I cleaned it and spot dyed it. Looks very nice. I was unaware of what you plan for it untill your email today..I made sure the belt loops were solid but kept repair costs to a minimum since it's to be worn.

The finished product

Here is the finished product. Jerry replaced the right belt loop, installed a new top to the tool pouch and replaced the pull up strap as the knot had broken off old one.
