My New 1920 DWM Commercial - Photo # 1

Here are a few photos of my newly acquired 1920 DWM commercial, .30 cal., 6" bbl. The luger has nice original finish at better than 95%, nice strawing, left side of frame stamped "Germany" and with 2-3 Crown/N nitro proofs. Barrel has been replaced but is correct and is also stamped "Germany" on left side. Magazine, I think, is "proper" but not matching but is also stamped with "Germany".

Got this nice shooter from Tom Heller for $ 850.00. Tom even fixed a broken take-down lever spring for me at no charge. Talk about great customer service !

Can't wait to shoot it this weekend !

Hey John,

I just screwed up. I only had three (3) total photos to post but ended up posting one two times...

This digital photo stuff will be the end of me yet...I am trying to take photos in a resolution that will fit the Forum limit of 160 KB, but then end up with very small photos that get posted on the Forum.

How do guys like you and Thor post such bit photos that fill up the entire screen when you open a message thread ?

Pete..just a suggestion. Photograph your guns on a non-reflective background, perhaps a piece of white or tan felt. Take the picture in a well lit room or outdoors so you don't have to use a flash. I take my photos at medium resolution (results in an image size of about 275K) then I use Paint Shop Pro or some other software to change the image to 640X480 resolution. Usually I end up with a sharp image that is around 100K. I am sure the other guys have better ways but this seems to work for me.

Hi Pete... I think I can help....

OK - here is what you do.....

Get all your guns ready to be photographed.. Next - find a pretty sturdy box, an indelible pen and a label...

Next - write my shipping address on the label, affix to the box - and pack your Lugers inside.. Heck - I'll photograph them for you..

Seriously - in your camera settings look for something called either "resolution" or "image size" - what you want are native images at "1024x768".. Next - load them into your photo editor - and don't reduce the physical size of the image - but rather, when you save them as a ".JPG" use save tham at something like "90%" compression or "Medium Quality" (I don't know which photo image software you use....??

Hope this heelps!

John D.
