First Luger...?
1938 DWM numbers match, one mag with aluminum end with no marks. ( I found a 2nd mag with # 6xxx & Nazi mark for $75 elsewhere). Barrel less than %50.
No marks on holster...missing strap, no tool pouch? Worth fixing or maybe find a nicer one correct to vintage? Haven't found much info online...books on the way. What's the experienced word on this rig? Thanks for looking... love perusing this forum. (I need to adjust my camera somehow sorry for the cartoons) http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/p08_lf.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/top_copy16.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/img_0876_copy3.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/img_0878.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/img_0877.jpg |
Welcome Iwow,
I'm sorry to start out with bad news.. you mention that the luger is all matching, but the frame is from Mauser and the upper part is DWM. That lowers the collector value, but hey.. it's still a Luger. The holster is just too blury for my eyes.. or at least that's my excuse for ignorance. Hopefully someone else has wisdom to share. Btw. For down scaling more than one and one photo, this is a neat program; http://www.freeimagebrowser.com/resize/ ..or with explorer http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthre...threadid=14942 ..or with the use of 'Paint' http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthre...threadid=14949 whatever floats your boat:) |
Mismatched luger shooter value in the $500 to $600 range with beat up WW2 era Bulgarian holster, worth $50 to $75 plus $75 for an original spare WW2 mag. TH

Shooter
Definitely not a collectible because DWM was no longer making Lugers in 1938... Mauser made the grip frame and the toggle was made by DWM MUCH earlier. But, it IS a nice shooter and worth in the range quoted above... maybe a little more because the condition is pretty nice for a mixed parts gun.
