Can I use Winchester 9mm 147 grain in my 1910 po8 luger

Bought a white box of Winchester 9mm 147 grain. Can I use this in my 1910 P08 luger
|
Hi,
IIRC, the ammo used at the time Lugers were current was the 125gn standard velocity bullet. As long as it's standard velocity, and not "NATO" or +P power it will probably work. But.. the Luger is pretty finely balanced, and you may find cycling problems surface with the heavier bullet. I personally don't fire collectible Lugers because of the risk of damaging numbered parts. |
are you asking about "Winchester 9mm Luger" FMJ, 115 gr, handgun ammo....?
|
yes you can, but that is fairly heavy? So, I wouldn't use it.
For sure, don't use the recalled ammo ------------------- combined the two threads |
Be safe, don't shoot it any luger!

Hi,
The recoil spring, of a Luger, is not balanced for any 147 gr. load; therefore, do not try and force it to work, as it will not. Sieger |
jack37 thank you all . I will not use It

I shot some 145gr S&B in the past. Truncated cone bullets. Repeated well in a refurbished 1937 P08. Shot a bit low, but that was about it.
Winchester White Box 115gr is perfect. |
Academy Sports was selling 200 rounds of Winchester white box for $70, but they have run out.
I've been holding off since the recall - hope all the bad batches have been pulled from stocks. It's a southwestern sports and camping big box store, but they have a good web site, too. |
