RARE MODEL Original German ally Luger P.08 pistol holster , marked
We offer rare authentic holster for Luger P.08 pistol, made in royal Bulgaria after German model. A German ally Bulgarian army was supplied mostly of German and Austrian army equipment . The first pistols for Bulgarian army were delivered in 1911, first for the general and commander staff only. Later there were new deliveries, Bulgarian officers sued Lugers during the WWI and WWII. There are few types Bulgarian Luger holsters, unfortunately none of them was established with decree. The most spread model has a long flap. Being into Bulgarian holsters research for over 10 years now, we can confirm that the holster here is of really rare type. This one belonged to an officer - colonel of Bulgarian general army staff and was worn during the WWII. Ordered by the colonel holster was made by Army leather maker in Sofia. Its model almost repeats the German Luger holster. From inside the flap there are authentic stamps : one of them reads: "2.D.O." , the other is maker's mark which is difficult to read. The ammo pouch aside is 13,2 cm/ 5,2 inches long. There are also two zip pouches at front. Holster is long 24,5 cm / 9,7 inches; the top part is wide 19 cm/ 7,5 inches. RARE MODEL HOLSTER in great authentic condition. Very precious find for Luger collectors ! http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-MODEL-O...item58848b42ec Interesting...priced way too high for me...but it does appeal to me...more so than a Wehrmacht Luger holster... |
Rich, I have never figured these out..IF the loading tool pouch and pin pouch on the front were intended for those purposes..how come they never appear to have been used? I have never seen one of these holsters where there is any tool usage..
I came to the conclusion long ago these were post war reproduction holsters. I guess one would have to make a thorough study of Bulgarian period photo's to authenticate them but I have never found them interesting like you do.. I always think of the two belt loops like a girl with her eyes too close together..not very good looking. My good Friend Tom Armstrong used to give these away to whoever wanted one..They are pretty much a $35.00 holster. These guys are dreaming if they think anyone will pay $300 for one.. |

Like the difference between gloves and mittens...I'm a gloves guy... :D * When I was in the military (both Marines and Air Force), we were never issued any individual tools...No rods, no brushes, no swabs even...but when shooting was over, every 10 people got a rod/bore brush/chamber brush/toothbrush/swabs/solvent/oil etc... |
Sturgess has a 10-15 page section on assorted Bulgarian holsters, biggest work on them i have seen.
