Help With 1935 Edition Manual Markings Please

Hi guys,

It's been a long time since I've posted anything but some of you may remember me. Anywho, I recently picked up a 1935 edition P08 manual and could use some help with the stamps inside the cover. I'm assuming it was used as a group training manual instead of being issued to an individual and I'm assuming it was a Luftwaffe unit. Any input at all would be appreciated and why are things lined out? I can provide more pictures if need be but the rest of the manual is just a plain Jane manual. In other words, the only post printer added stamps and writing are as pictured in the pictures below. Thanks in advance.

First off I am no expert in interpreting German documents or language thereof but it appears that this PISTOL 08 training manual was originally the property of a specific Luftwaffe squadron in a specific area of Germany (Oreif Forest ??) later transferred to another area (Hamburg) thus the striking out and re-stamping at the bottom of the document.

Fascinating manual ... nice score Brian.

Don't shoot the messenger please ... its JMHO.

I believe that's a "G" - Flying Squadron Greifswald...And it's interesting that the manual was printed when Germany was not supposed to have an air force...

Yes I thought it was Greifswald at 1st too Richard but couldn't find the area so i tried replacing letters and came up with Oreifswald forest.

Now on further searching I have found the Greifswald area thus Fliegergefchwader Greifswald becomes airforce squadron Greifswald which makes more sense than air fight squadron Oreif forest.

Greifswald is a city in northeastern Germany. It is situated in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, at an equal distance of about 250 km (160 mi) from Germany's two largest cities, Berlin and Hamburg. This makes sense too because the new stamp at the bottom of the document is a Hamburg stamp.

luftgaupeftamt Hamburg roughly translates to 'air gauge office Hamburg'

Under the terms of the Treaty of Versailles (1919), Germany was prohibited from having an air force, with the former German Empire's Luftstreitkräfte disbandment in 1920. German pilots were secretly trained for military aviation, first in the Soviet Union during the late 1920s, and then in Germany in the early 1930s. In Germany, the training was done under the guise of the German Air Sports Association (German: Deutscher Luftsportverband (DLV)) at the Central Commercial Pilots School (German: Zentrale der Verkehrs Fliegerschule (ZVF)).

Following its 15 May 1933 formation in secret, the formation of the German air arm was openly announced in February 1935, with Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring as its Commander-in-Chief (German: Oberbefehlshaber der Luftwaffe), in blatant defiance of the Versailles Treaty.

One could surmise that the Greifswald Luftwaffe squadron was disbanded in favor of a Hamburg Luftwaffe squadron after the 1935 formation of the German air arm ??

I will try to translate and explain.
1. Cover sheet
H.Dv. 255 = Heeresdienstvorschrift 255 ( Army regulation number 255 )
L.Dv. 405 = Luftwaffendienstvorschrift 405 ( Air Force regulation number 405 )
Underlined in red = Used by the Air Force
The same regulation was used in the army and the air force under different numbers!
