TKS, Most were prestroke! I don't have a clue!

Eugen 04-26-2016 03:40 PM

Nice! But, you forgot to include a pic of what they look like when they are carefully stored. I never see any pics of Lugers safely tucked away. I am sure you don't keep them in shoe boxes. Lastly, I am looking for mag #9742, if you got it. :D

All kidding aside, that is a nice collection.

There are stored near by my sise , wide open because they make me happy! My Kreeggees are stored loose in its' own holster~ I once stored 2 mags in one of them. Weeks later I had difficalty trying to remove them. When I did the both had a green mold or something~~~ Removed. That is the reason they are stored in the open in my blue tupperware~Eric

Eric, you should not store the guns in the holsters either, or one of these days you may have some nasty green stuff rusting your prize Lugers.

This is florida, Never!! I have a open place in my closet called Jerrys' stash! I stock each with white cotton sock or two for protection and retaining their shape~ Lots of socks~ Debbys' suggestion. Its less socks to wash!!! Adding, A few years back while I was in the hospital the cold water line to the washer broke while Debbie was out 3 to 4 inches of water through out the old house. She had bought beforehand a few Rubbermaids and a cheap preventation!!!!!They can be sealed just in case! Eric

Eric, Nice stash of both mags & holsters. I concur with your storage methods. Most of us have encountered the "green stuff" (vertigrist) at one time or another. TH

Eric your statement above is why I made my comment about not storing in the holster! Did I misunderstand?

John you were perfect. Your advice was right on. I've never stored my lugers or magazine in my holsters. Recently I stored 2 in my duel mag holders for just a month. I had a hard time removing them and yes they both had green on them! John the only thing stored in my holsters are white cotton socks to maintain holster integrity~

I found out about the green stuff! An example is the Statue Of Liberty~ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verdigris

I've always been a bit paranoid about storing my guns, in fact I use two safes one of them with windows as I like to look at my pistols, that are stored with a lot of small bags of silica-gel. I get the guns out regularly just for some light lubing and I wipe them with some silicon cloth.
I keep the few holster that I still have in a locker, and from time to time I just wipe them with a clean cloth and some Ballistol, I bet everybody now is smiling knowing that in the last 30 years or so I've been a faithful user of Ballistol... almost like Hickok45... ;)

Eric
Probably I've not explained myself properly, from time to time I order some gun items from Brownells (new grips, grip screws, a new bushing and so on) so next time I'll order something I'll add also a tin can of "Renaissance" so I'll give it a try.

Have a good day! :)

cirelaw 04-28-2016 09:46 AM

Sergio. I swear by this little can! Its really great! Easy on and no mess!
