DWM 1900 American Eagle

I just joined the forums this morning and was asked to show some of my stuff. I don't have that much. Here's the pride of my collection:

http://www.rbsiii.com/collection/pis...merican_Eagle/

I tried to post the photos here using UBB Code links to my server, but no can do. You'll just have to look at the web page I wrote to display this nice 1900 AE.

Hi Curl, It's a beautiful gun and the photos are great. Thanks for showing. Regards, Norm

I would post them to this forum if I knew how to handle the images. I just got finished posting the same photo array to my old haunts at NitroExpress.com. (You'll have to scroll down a bit.)

http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showf...e=0#Post101004

I had promised the photography over there more than three years ago!

Every forum is different as to how it handles photos.

Thanks for your compliments,

Very nice 1900, and also I particularly like the .450 Gibbs Box Lock. A great working rifle.

Your Luger is a knockout. Thanks for sharing. I love the 1900s, a true classic.

Curl, A very fine pistol indeed! Excellent photography as well...

Definitly a Luger to be proud of. Just beautiful. Thanks for showing.

Roscoe -

Here's what I meant about linking to your other thread -

http://forum.lugerforum.com/attachme...1&d=1311507248

Let's see what this looks like -

Hmmm...I like the full-size link better, I think...The thumbnail link just doesn't do it justice...

Hugo Borchardt 07-24-2011 09:23 AM

Very nice example! Thanks for sharing.

CptCurl 07-24-2011 10:02 AM

I posted photos on the other thread under my "introduction" when I should have posted them here. Maybe somebody can move the posts?

Dunno how you got the larger photos to show here! I'm really not computer illiterate. Different forum software packages do things differently. I'm used to UBB code on the forum I am most active on (NE.com). I also know some HTML and get by with what I know. This software doesn't seem as flexible in letting you arrange your photos and make comments within the photo array.

I've got a pretty decent M1906. I haven't photographed it yet and may wait till I'm better at posting. Others: several 1920 and 1923 commercials (dime a dozen, eh? One's brand new with two mags and the bottom of its original box - anybody have a top?); a beautiful, almost new 1941 Banner Mauser police rig (my theory: probably issued to a Gestapo goon, he squirreled it and instead carried a military gun he got somewhere; then a GI raided his squirrel cache?); also some lesser examples.

We all like big. Can I interest you in the full-size (4288 x 2848)? Links below.

Up close and personal! Enjoy,

Wow!!! You've got an electron microscope with a camera attachment!!!

(Just kidding!!!) :D

Thanks for the big pics! This is about as close as I ever expect to get to an 1900 AE Luger... :p

I am a photography buff since childhood, and I love to photograph guns.

I have tried to learn good techniques, but my setup could still be improved. Digital makes it so much easier!

Glad you like the photos.

Ok, one more just for fun. Link below to a full resolution, but cropped photo of the top:

I don't know where the red tinge on the top of the safety lever comes from. Glare of some sort. There's no rust. It's an anomaly.

gorgeous 1900 AE !!

ithacaartist 07-24-2011 03:37 PM

Amazing condition for this 1900 AE! OK, practice posting those pics, 'cause you need to get a series of your 1906 up here. They will keep me humble concerning the 1906 AE I just bought from RIAC!
Thanks!

CptCurl 07-24-2011 03:59 PM

Just got finished mowing my grass. Hot as hell! As soon as I get cooled off and cleaned up I'm going to fire up my Nikon and photograph the 1906. Stay tuned. . . .

I finally completed my original post. I figured out how to insert the images.

Enjoy!
