DDR Marked Barrel
A friend of mine showed me a Krieghoff which he bought as a DDR Luger, under the barrel lug among other markings, there is the word KOTT stamped, does anybody know what it stands for please?

I don't find "KOTT" as a DDR abbreviation or marking. I am unfamiliar with that marking.
|
To tell you the truth, it was on two differnt Lugers in the same place.

West-German Import marking. Probably Kett for Kettner, a German reseller.

But why put such a word on a Luger...:banghead: Alf. |
""Apart from being 'that place', it is probably the abbreviation of the West-German importer :) ""
Vlim, I can't see your last reply on the forum, but I got it in my email notification. Yes I think so also, it was on two Lugers in the same place. Thanks.;) Alf. |
Gentlemen:
Frankly, this word reminds me more of the accuracy level I have obtained with my two P-38s. Sieger |
Lol. A P38 shoots like lightning. Never hits the same place twice
(now I'm gonna hide for the P38 guys) |
Kott & P-38

A Bundeswehr Major told me that the talk among the troups was the following: P-38 was an Army code word for: 7 test shots and one free-hand through! |
