The case fully encloses the bullet. That's because when the Nagant is cocked, the cylinder moves forward and inserts the case mouth into the forcing cone to provide a gas seal.

Suppressors are effective on revolvers designed this way. I don't know if there are any others with such a gas seal system.

Not sure on price but my lgs has some original Russian stuff at least a few more cans worth buymilsurp.com or call mark kubes firearms
