Luger Models

My Nephew in Japan just sent me 2 sets of the Gold Plated Lugers with the Fancy Ivory Oak Leaf grips that Wombat previously posted. Got them for my two Granddaughters Luger collections since they are too young for the real ones

That's Cool Bob! How much did he have to give for them? (EOM)

Re: That's Cool Bob! How much did he have to give for them?

John I don't know, there was no Yen price marking on the boxes for me to make a conversion. I know he said he had a hard time locating them as they are very popular over there. I think he also said that they had a newer version that was more expensive that he was unable to fine. I send him things from the states and he returns favor. One of the perks of having a Japanese relative. However, decoding some of the messages he sends that he uses his pocket translator for really get confusing.

There is one marking on Box above UPC code that ends in 9980 which would put gun into the $70 dollar range or more. I don't know what present exchange rate is. They are also listed as "2001 Limited Addition Version"

Maybe Wombat can shed some additional light on the pricing.

Re: Luger Models

One evening while I was waiting for the computer here at work to finish closedown, I was looking on the internet and found the following site: www.airsoftatlanta.com/gas.htm. It is a company in Atlanta that carries a line of Japanese air guns that shoot 6mm plastic pellets. They have a Luger and a Mauser Broomhandle but show them both as sold out. I have not had a chance to call them to find out if they plan to get more in or not. Maybe one of our forum members in that area could find out and post the news. The pictures of both look great.

Re: Airsoft Luger Models

From your recomendation I will need to get my rear in gear and call them. For the listed price of $39.00 it would be hard to go wrong. Too bad the Mauser is so much more expensive but it would still be fun!

Hey guys, what are these things good for? I mean they look cool and all but you will need a rubber holster to go with...How many of you would trade in the Wife for a rubber dollie? Ha Ha!!!!!!

Re: Like rubber blow up dollies?

No they are good for 9 and 10 year olds to start there Luger collections. Since I do not have any Grandsons to leave my Lugers too I am hoping one of the Granddaughters will develope an interest in them.

That is SCARY! (EOM)

Bob try this link for Japanese (or other language) translations.

Bob, this link does some pretty amazing stuff for translations of several languages:

http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr

It is not perfect, but it does a decent job. You can also plug in the URL for a foreign language site, and identify the language and it will translate the homepage and virtually all the linked pages below it...

regards, John

Bob, I guess you are right. I never thought about getting Granddaughters interested. Let me know if that works out...Jerry

Re: Bob try this link for Japanese (or other language) translations.

Thanks for info. However he carries his own Pocket traslator and types it out in English to send. You should have seen us when we met in Las Vegas we typed in English Phrase came out in Japanese and Visa Versa. Of course a lot of confusion was built in.

Re: Airsoft Luger Models

Just for fun today I did an internet search for Luger air pistols and it was very interesting. At one point they even made an arty complete with a snail drum magazine and shoulder stock. I also found a couple of sites that talked about the ones that Tracy has from the video game. If you have some time, search for "airsoft luger".
