No, honest! It's true! The Germans would train the dogs to run toward the smell of the cheap crappy wine the French drank instead of water. That and the smell of dead snails. The dogs would then pull the ripcord on the satchel charge to escape the revolting smells of the French and deliver them to a better smelling place. The dogs; not the French.. :thumbup:
Only captured Allied dogs were used; bulldogs, poodles, chihuahuas (pronounced 'cha-hooah-hooah', as per Les Nessman); common dogs better off in Hound Heaven, while the true princes of the animal kingdom, the Doberman Pinschers, were reserved for reconnaissance duty. ;)
