Leather care - again :)
I was shopping around for the often recommended Connolly leather treatment, and not surprisingly I found that they make several different products. Same thing with Pecard, they carry a line of products for different purposes.
I have linked to a few of Connolly's products below, and a search for Pecard yields an even broader assortment of products for "leather", "antique leather", "motorcycle leather", "glove leather" etc (not "holster leather" though). So just as a clarification: Which of these products are you guys using? Just one, or a combination? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Connolly-Hi...YAAOSw0bxZt-JT https://www.ebay.com/itm/Connolly-Le...ss!38583!US!-1 https://www.ebay.com/itm/CONNOLLY-LE...jAbOgSbnwFHCWA |
Hi Ollie,
I use Connolly hide care routinely and occasionally use the leather cleaner (actually a concentrated shampoo) on newly acquired holsters if they're very dirty. They are safe to use on holsters although they tend to darken the leather for a few weeks until they completely dry off. They are expensive products but I got a good deal buying the two together and they last for years. Norm |

I would not ever use Pecards, as its very thick and leaves a residue - I realize some folks like it.
I only use Connolys Hide Care... |
I use Connolly Hide Food.....but my jar is old, and perhaps they have changed the name to Hide Care. A jar lasts a loooong time, as one is to only use the product very sparingly. This is the best product I have found for leather interiors in automobiles, and other leather products.

One of the very worst products you can use on holsters is Pecards!!!!!!! If you do buy some of this gunk put it on your boots. Connolly's is great as is any pure lanolin product. Bill

Thanks, guys! I just ordered the leather cleaner and the "Hide Care" conditioner, so we'll see how it works.

Olle, I use Connolly based on recommendations from many wiser than me on this forum. Further, over the years I purchased a few holsters from Bill Lyon. The leather on them was simply impeccable. I think Bill knows what he is talking about. I'll use Connolly products and forget the rest. :typing:

As I mentioned before I've always used some BALLISTOL on all my leather holsters without any issue, even on some really old ones (1900), they all look nice and well looked after.

Great Thread!
I just purchased a jar of Connolly leather treatment to give it a try! |
I use Connolly's and for mold I use Ballistol.
