GB Auction 563854824

There is an interesting 1900 for sale on GB. It has been refinished and heavily buffed. Priced in $700's:order:

Very unfortunate. Takedown is broken, pistol is buffed far beyond resurrection. Price is already 1/3 over worth. Location in the database suggests it should be an AE.

you know, what always makes me think when I see something like this is the story of the 1902 Fat Barrel that Bob told us
- that the family wanted to make it more 'saleable' and they polished and turned it with swirls on it...
- I wonder if they just had it reblued to make it 'pretty'.

You can still see pitting, in spite of 1/4 of the metal being polished away!

Must have been one of those test luger used in the "corrosion"
part of the tests.

Even if it was a good shooter it would make me cringe every time I picked it up.
