Julia preview

A few interesting pistols in Julia this coming Wednesday. They will also sell a utility pickup with tracks.

Those 4 BHPs are consecutively numbered. The conehammer is straight forward pristine. The weird Mauser is reblued but it's rare. And two bulky British pistols.

I wouldn't mind the M113 (I guess) although a bit difficult to park in the town center I suppose... :)

alvin 10-03-2015 08:46 AM

It's big. Some museums probably would have interested in it. Regular home? no. Give it to me free, I cannot accept it. As you said, nowhere to park it.

Simply to move this to Julia, I bet that has cost owner something.

It's the view of vehicle interior. There was a guy sitting on top of vehicle having fun. That's his foot.

Funny thing was this: while I was outside of the showroom having a cigarette, I received a phone call asking "we have mailed you the catalog, have you received it?"...

Yes. I received. And, it cost me more than $200 to come here just count gas and vehicle alone :)

But using the opportunity, I played their MP18, ZB26, MP44, Thompson, Sten etc a little bit. The money was not wasted.

I commanded an M113 when in the Army. Ours was out-fitted with an electrical current converter, extra heater, coffee maker and more. It was an oasis on Winter alerts.

machining shop with welding machine inside. must take lot of works to keep healthy.

is flooring original materialz?

alvin 10-03-2015 03:30 PM

While I was there, I noticed he tried to start the engine. There was starting noise, and black smoke came out.

Well, thats not a M113.....I should know, I practically lived out of one for 2 years in Germany...look at the road wheels and the raised hump on the roofline..I think it's an earlier M75. But yes, the auxillary heater was a sheer luxury....all our 113s had them, but they broke down all the time, and other guys from other companies would try to steal ours! If we had to be away from the track for a while in the field, we'd pull the igniter out of it and take it with us....yep, cold will make people desperate! :)

Alvin,
Aren't those "bulky" British pistols Gabbet-Fairfax Mars examples? Rare and expensive too if I remember correctly.
Lyn.

Yes. They are. Very expensive pistols. I heard all of them were prototypes, this gun never went to mass production, it's a very rare long recoil design.

Regarding those prototypes,,,, personally, I agree with a youtube.com viewer's insight on a prototype Mauser self-loading rifle. Toby Hogan commented on the following video (quoted here, because I assume same could be applied on Mars):

"its a failed concept gun, not an early model of a production firearm"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5F22ri_L5g

Nevertheless, it's still a very interesting gun.

The mint standard conehammer sold $20,125 (BP included). I sold a nice one for only $8000 two weeks ago... well, condition could not compare with this one though.

BP included:
Mauser 1906/08 with 20-shot magazine sold $31,625.
.45ACP Mars sold $69,000 (another proof that .45 of anything is hot!!!!)
8.5mm Mars sold $28,750
APC sold $57,500
Four consecutively numbered engraved BHP sold $23,000 (yesterday)
Mauser self-loading rifle sold $23,000

What is "APC"?

Ron Wood 10-07-2015 06:27 PM

Armored Personnel Carrier.

Understandable. I could have said "Adolph's Personal Carbine", but you would have probably called me out on that!
