7.65 BULLETS
 

Luger Friends:

I'm interested in loading for the 7.65 Parabellum and need to know the variety of bullets commercially available for this caliber.

Who is making bullets and in what weights and diameters?

Which is the most accurate in our experience?

Hi there,

7.65mm Parabellum.....a lot more accurate that 9mm in my book !! A 1900 AE gave me 1 1/2 in. groups @ 50 yds !! 9mm doesnt even come close....

Around here the only available bullet is Hornady 90gr XTP....You can try smooth & accurate loads like 5.0gr HP38 / W231 or for a real BANG : 7.5gr Blue dot ( carefull on that one ! ) W-W Cases & WSP Primers.

In all respect to other fine firearms, 30 Luger Cal. is a real pleasure to shoot & gives accuracy levels that few handguns ( old & modern ) can accomplish...

<img border="0" alt="[byebye]" title="" src="graemlins/wave.gif" /> Graf & Sons has Hornady .308 90 gr XTP & Sierra .308 85 gr RNSP. Old Western Scrounger has Hornady .308 86 gr RNSP & 93 gr RNSP. These are made for reloading the 30 Luger and Mauser. If you have a bullet sizing setup, you can resize .312 60 gr Gold Dot and XTP to .3095 for the 30 L.

My 9mm is a pretty good little grouper too. Try 1' to 1.25" at 25 yards and 2.5" at 100 yards for an 8 shot group!!

The trick is not to load them to the point of near explosion!! In fact, somewhere between 975fps and 1025fps seems to be best for accuracy.

Kind of an off brand but I recently bought two boxes of "FIOCCHI" 7.65 parabellum FMJ 93 grain for $20 per box. Made in Italy and they shoot just fine.

Did this ammo operate your Luger properly? Another Forum member has had problems with it in his Lugers, both Interarms and DWM. He has tested it and says that it doesn't approach the advertised speed.

I have ordered a box to try when I start my loading research for the 7.65mm.

Jaguar and Sieger,

When I had a .30 P-08 Fiocci was too underpowered to operate the action. It works just fine in my shooting-quality 1900AE, in fact, anything more powerful is too much for the flat recoil spring (a new-manufactured relacement) and really cracks the toggle stop back against the frame.

If you got Fiocci for $20/box you got a good deal, I do't see it for less than $25-$28.
