Does anyone know anything about this luger? Sad ending to
a rare luger, but the engraving is incrediable. I assume that the grips are ivory. Recent listing on gunbroker.com ray |
Photos of this wonderful looking gun were shown a few years ago but I wasn't able to record it's serial number, I see now that it's 621b. This means that it's not a 1908 Navy but a 1906 with it's grip safety removed. The seller should get some sort of award for describing ivory as "naturally aged organic material"!

when did 1908 navys first start
I have an early 1908 navy, #152x b I thought 1906 navys were
in no suffix and a suffix. I could not see a number on the bottom of the sideplate. If it is a 1906, then possibly it was not matching, so replacing the trigger bar, safety bar and safety lever would be easy. thanks ray |
Hi Ray,
The change over from the 1906 to the 1908 Navy took place at about #1000b, there is some slight overlap. Norm |
