No More Holster repair for a month

Gentlemen, For those of you who might want to know, I will not be accepting any holsters for repair from March 16th to April 16th. I will be in hospital or engaged in therapy for hip replacement surgery during this time in Denver Colorado.
I am sure that after April 16th I will be happy to accept any and all holster repairs that come my way. Thanks to all , Jerry Burney

I hope you have a laptop or some other access point so you can check in to the forum for your daily reading! Otherwise you will have a lot of catch-up to do when you finally get home.

Thor 03-11-2004 01:02 PM

I will miss your posts but look forward to them again and your continued skillful work on Luger holsters when you are fully healed. Natlie and I will have you guys in our prayers! Thanks for letting us know!

Strider 03-11-2004 02:12 PM

Jerry and Ellie, I will also keep you in my prayers. Like John said, do not rush things and make sure you heal properly. We sure are going to miss you around here.

Sid.

Herb 03-11-2004 02:16 PM

Jerry, best wishes to you. I have a friend in CA that had the same thing, therapy took a little longer than he expected but things are fine now, he is pain free. Hang in there, it'll work out.

the gunman 03-11-2004 04:44 PM

Jerry my prayers go with you

policeluger 03-11-2004 05:59 PM

All the best for a speedy recovery!

lugerholsterrepair 03-11-2004 06:03 PM

Ellie here - Thanks for the good wishes for Jerry, and Yes, I will have my Laptop. I will keep you up to date and let you know exactly when you can start "flooding" the lugerholsterrepair-man with holsters again. I am sure he will need to keep himself occupied, in order not to drive me crazy!
Surgery is scheduled for the 30th of March.
Re-hab and the rest of the summer will be spent in Colorado through September. Nice to know that the "support-system" goes international with such great people.

PS: John D - The Nurses may make the PT interesting!

Ellie

Jerry best to you,

Doubs 03-11-2004 06:38 PM

Jerry, you'll be in my prayers for a successful operation and a quick recovery. I'll give you some incentive by telling you that I have a possible project that is very much related to your line of work but it's NOT a holster or similar item. There is leather involved and you'll find out when you're back on your feet! Got you wondering? GOOD! :)

lugerholsterrepair 03-11-2004 11:38 PM

Doubs, I always like a mystery.

To all of you others who have me in your thoughts, I thank you. I need to get this fixed so I can walk around gun shows again!

I appreciate you thinking of me, Jerry

Vlim 03-12-2004 10:01 AM

Jerry,

The best of luck! I'm an artritis patient myself so I know how frustrating it is to loose the freedom to move around the way you want to.

Hope your fresh hip may bring you many happy walks!

Roadkill 03-12-2004 10:50 AM

Wait till you try to get through airport security with that.

Jerry and Family,
The Prayers of You and the Others of, and through, this Forum have sustained me through these last couple of dark years.
I'm thankful for the peace of mind that the prayers, of all of you, have extended to me.
Now it is my time to say to you;
You shall remain in our thoughts and prayers until we again hear that you you are returning to full health and have moved beyond pain into a much better life that awaits you .
And then we shall pray that GOD sustain us all!
Gott Mit Uns Mien Freund !
ViggoG

G.W. Gill 03-13-2004 12:54 AM

Jerry and Kidvett, Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Jerry, enjoy summertime Colorado. Beautiful! Kidvett, enjoy the lounge at home!

lugerholsterrepair 03-13-2004 01:43 AM

Viggo, We've got mittens too! That's what the American troops used to yell accross no mans land at the Germans as a taunt.
I surely will let all of you know how this turns out...As for enjoying Colorado I don't know, they plowed 30 inches of snow off my mile long driveway the other day. I'm just hoping I can get to my house!Jerry Burney

mauro 03-13-2004 08:26 AM

Jerry,
best luck to you.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Ciao
Mauro

kidvett 03-13-2004 09:15 AM

Hello,

John D. thanks for the kind thoughts...I was not going to tell as I'm kind of a discreet guy...

To all, thanks for the warm wishes...Being forced home in recovery for the next 2 weeks will surely give me some time to go through my stuff & find interesting topics to discuss...

As a matter of fact, I found early this morning an early HSc with a laynard loop....

Sorry to get in here a bit late, but to Jerry and Ellie, all my best wishes. Jerry has done a wonderful job with several of my holsters, and for that I am grateful. Hopefully, he will continue to do even better, as hip replacements almost always remove the pain that has been endured for so long. Jerry and Ellie, in my career as a doctor specializing in arthritis for over three decades, I have seen many hundreds of hip replacements. Yours should go very well as the science and technology for this procedure have improved greatly. Denver is a great medical center. You are getting the best. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.

lugerholsterrepair 03-13-2004 11:42 AM

Herb, Mauro...Thanks much. I appreciate your opinions Herb. It means a lot to me. Ellie should not have asked but you know how Women are. Thanks for taking the time to write back about it. I am confident it will be much better than what I have now. Jerry

Frank 03-13-2004 01:58 PM

Jerry, best wishes for a successful surgery and a quick recovery!! Say hi to Ellie for me!

Mark, I hope your recovery is equally fast. You better hurry, else all those nice pistols will be snapped up by others!!

Cheers to both!!!

Jerry,
Good luck to you and I hope you have a quick recovery.
Best Regards,

MikeP 03-15-2004 12:29 AM

Guess you won't be executing many good PLFs for a while. Recover and make another one troop.

Airborne!

lugerholsterrepair 03-15-2004 12:27 PM

Frank, Mike, Greg and all of you who have written in concern for my wellbeing I thank you for the kind words and prayers.

I am leaving for Colorado today so will not be on the Forum for a week or so. I will miss it and all of you fellows.

MikeP, I would sincerly like to be able to jump and PLF. Those are fond memories my Friend. AIRBORNE!

Thanks for the support. Kidvette...Hope you are recovering nicely. See you guy's soon....Jerry

lugerholsterrepair 03-31-2004 11:00 AM

Gentlemen,
Ellie here, Jerry's surgery went well, recovery will be a bit longer than thought, but all is well. Thank you Ed and Ron for the "stop by" and call, took his mind off of the conditions.
Will be in Denver for a few more days.
Happy Hunting...
Ellie

Edward Tinker 03-31-2004 11:33 AM

Ellie, I saw that lugerholsterrepair was on, but figured he was either REALLY tough or else you were on the forum! Since surgery knocks the best of down for the count! :D

Hi Ellie..happy to hear that Jerry is doing well...what else could you expect after all he is a paratrooper.

Leo

drbuster 03-31-2004 10:10 PM

Great news, Ellie! Hopefully, Jerry's "bit longer" recovery will be just that and he will be up and around in no time. The Orthopedic docs nowadays get patients up practically the next day, especially one of Jerry's youth!

lugerholsterrepair 03-31-2004 11:02 PM

Hi Guys,
Ellie again, Jerry was UP today, starting PT, doing GREAT and very determined. I am both amazed and relieved.
Thanks for all of the support.
Ellie

Frank 04-01-2004 10:07 AM

Hi Ellie (or Jerry), please give Jerry my best wishes for a quick recovery!!
