Quick Update - please read......

Hi folks,

If you find that the Forum is off-line for a bit during the evening - please know it's just me.... In short - what's happening is:

1) I am really displeased with the speed circuits, and therefore - I'm cutting in on a temporary basis - an additional circuit to increment total bandwidth by slightly more then 50%. This should be complete by 3AM my time Saturday morning.

2) In the longer term - I signed an agreement this week with another carrier which should more then quadruple the circuit performance over the next month of all my sites (firearms and Porsche sites). After that cut-over, I'll also move other areas/servers that host the LugerForum site into the new circuits as well (more then just the discussion Forum).

Anyway - if the site goes out on an temporary basis for a few minutes - please know, "we'll be back"...

Thanks for your patience and support!

John Dunkle

Frank 08-27-2004 05:41 PM

Patience my a$$, will you hurry up!! :D

John D. 08-27-2004 05:54 PM

LOL!!!!

I already took it down - and brought it back up!!! You missed it!!! :D

Seriously - it looks like about 10 PM tonight I'm bringing it off-line. At that time - I'll be working with my carrier as they reboot their equipment in their New Hampshire CO - which will bring down my sites along with all their NH customers (including McDonalds in NH/Maine??! :) )??!!!

I'm beginning to think I have no life..

Best to you!!!!

John D.

Edward Tinker 08-27-2004 08:52 PM

I'm beginning to think I have no life..

My wife thinks the same thing about me, got back from out of town, go back in a week.

HEY!!

Received some Luger "presents" today (well this week) in the mail!! A book for a friend, an e-bay 1960's luger book and Costanzo from another forum friend!!

Was a good week after all!

Ed

John D. 08-27-2004 09:04 PM

You got a copy of Costanzo's book??!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!!! They are pretty pricey when you can find a copy....

About not having a life - ummm - can't help you there. Send your wife East, though - and she can commiserate with Jen.. On second thought - DO NOT send her East without you - since if she and Jen meet without both you and I present - well, we are TOAST.....

Edward Tinker 08-27-2004 09:14 PM

Hey, this forum has brought be a lot of good cool stuff, besides friends!

Yes, a friend said, hey don't you still need constanzo? And sent it to me and a return check is in the mail!

So, sending her back east would be fine with me, but I doubt I'd get an ankoor lugger in return! {{not FOR her, just with her when she came back!!}}

Nice bike Ron! Here's my stingray (from days gone by), that 1947 knucklehead would be worth some money today! (Sold it around 1977).

Here's my Stingray. I just finished having it restored. This was my first car, I bought in 1975 for $2800. The littl ol' lady sitting in it is my Mom.

Ron Smith 08-30-2004 07:15 PM

Frank, It would be worth quite a bit now.I would guess at least $12000+. Who's the skinny young dude riding it?

Tracy, Is that a '63 split window? Nice car! A friend of mine had one exactly like it. His Grandma bought it for him , for graduation.

Ron

tracyp 08-30-2004 09:49 PM

Ron,

It's a `66, the split window was only in '63. Supposedly, Ralph Nader made them take the split window out for safety reasons.

Tracy
