Magazine list match to your gun
Ok, here is a list of my spare mags.
I will offer them ONLY to the owners of the gun they belong to! You will have to show proof that you own the gun. I will NOT sell them outright unless you have a matching gun, so please don't ask. If you have a gun that needs one of my mags I will either sell it outright or trade for another. Forum members feel free to add your spares to the list. GOOD LUCK! :) Wood Stamped Nickel - 151 None Wood Stamped Nickel 309 d None Wood Stamped Nickel 1344 d Crown G Wood Stamped Nickel 1765 o Crown Wood Stamped Nickel - 2027 766 2 None Wood Stamped Nickel 382? Ed:
Can use your #3916 if it has a "w" suffix. For my 1939 Banner police E/L. I have 724 "n" + SE/83 Blue Tube alum bottom that I might trade. Regards Ken D |
Ken NO suffix, but then I am used to most police not having one, just the 1, 2 or 3 and the serial #? E-mail me, we should talk! See e-mail here!
:) |
Ed, for you and surely others that may have a problem identifying the differences between Extruded and Stamped Sheetmetal magazines, I put together this collage of photo illustrations that may be helpful. There are early H-S extruded police mags that have a rear pinned mag bottom, but most extruded mags are the center-pinned type.
MOST extruded mags are cut at 90 degrees to the back at the bottom edge which causes a small portion of the front half of the shell to be exposed when inserted into the gun... The stamped mags are GENERALLY cut at an angle that matches the bottom of the gun so none of the mag tube is exposed when inserted in the gun. http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfuploa...ifferences.jpg Newer reproduction mags (like Mec-Gar) use a one piece sheet metal tube that is formed and shaped to the proper dimensions so they won't have the crimp, but they are not exactly "extruded" like the original mags that were formed out of hot steel pushed through a die and then machined to size... The triple-K variety mags are typically two halves (front and back that are spot welded together... |
Thank you John. I always wondered about this myself but were afraid to ask. Great display.

To all posters in this thread in pages 1 and 2:
Since my memory is almost 72 years old, I used my computer to copy ALL of the above posts, then copied them into an outgoing message window and then printed the whole shebang. I have not counted the pages but it is bunch. Now I have them when I open my Fort Knox. I do not have that many Lugers, but none of them have the correct magazine. The list will help me find them - I hope. Regards, Hoyt M. Weathers |
My 1916 DWM needs a correct 4462m mag and a set of 62 grips. I've looked through Mr. Hallock's List Nos. 17, 18, 19, and 20 with no luck.
