A Few Mausers
Here are a few of my Mausers:
Left Column, Starting at the bottom, K-Date, G-Date, 1936 S/42, 1937 S/42 Straw Small Parts, 1937 S/42 Blue Parts, 1938 S/42. Middle Column, Starting at the bottom, 1939 S/42, 1939 Code 42, 1940 Code 42, 41 Code 42, 41 byf, 42 byf. Right Column, Starting at the bottom, 42 byf, 43 byf, 44 byf, 45 svw Most of the Lugers have a matching Magazine and those that don't have "proper" magazines. My definition of "proper" is magazines that have the same Waffenamt Marks and same letter block as the pistol. These sixteen pistols represent one of each of the major variations of 9mm pistols made by Mauser for the Wehrmacht between 1934 and 1945. Enjoy!!! Apology to Ron: I know you think these are reproductions and they are not all Lugers, but pretty nice pistols anyway!! :D http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfuploa...hrmacht_16.jpg |
Hey Frank,
Didn't the sturgeon general declare that too many Mausers could be hazardous to one's health...? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> Very nice collection and I like the wooden display racks ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> Regards, Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" /> |
Nice Photo Frank... I like the racks too! :)
|
Frank, very, very, nice display. One day I would like to have a Mauser collection like that for myself. I am impressed.

No apologies required for that superb collection that established a specific collecting goal and stuck to it until it was accomplished. As one who has chased the ever-elusive example required to complete a theme, I understand what effort went into building the display shown (not to mention the grocery money that was sacrificed in the process). My heartiest congratulations and grudgingly admitted envy.

Frank,
I tell you, your Mausers made my mouth water. I have a similar collection I thought you and others might like to see. These also start at a K-Date and run up through the byf-42's with wood and bakelite grips. Thirteen pistols in all. These are my favorites. <a href="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/room4_copy1.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/room4_copy1.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a> <a href="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/room3_copy1.jpg" target="_fullview"><img src="http://forums.lugerforum.com/lfupload/room3_copy1.jpg" width="400" alt="Click for fullsize image" /></a> This room is a haven for solice and figuring out what I am going to do next. |
You "reproduction" guys are a dedicated lot. Hats off to both of you.
|
Hey Frank....Really nice!!!.....looks a bit like one those photos of the racks of Lugers at the Mauser factory....the way all that steel shines is impressive!!
|
Beautiful display, Frank. Congratulations.
Best Regards, Luke |
Hi Frank,
As Mauser also made office furniture, perhaps you can purchase some Mauser cabinets to house this excellent bunch! |
Thanks Guys!! I appreciate the comments, well most of them anyway.
TT, I love your display rack!! And, of course, your Mausers!! I too have a byf 42 with black bakelite grips, near mint condition. It sure is fun to just admire them, isn't it! I also admire your "Mauser Room". It looks like a great place to spend time! Pete, The sturgeon general's only warning is to anyone that wants to grab my Lugers!!! OK Gerben, where can I find this Mauser Furniture in Mint Condition. I suppose I could buy some and make some more gun racks for my Mausers!! |
Simply outstanding!! Well-done, gentlemen.
|
Frank,
VERY NICE !! The infamous Mauser dozen & the added 4......for that sweet sixteen setup !! One small question, which one was the hardest to find ?? CONGRATS AGAIN !! MARK :) |
Thanks Railsplitter and Kidvette!!
Mark, the most difficult one to find is the next one I need!!! The most difficult of the twelve was the 1939 S/42 in collectable condition. I have seen several that were almost, but no cigar. There are about 31 or 32 Mauser Lugers of major and minor variations. Of those, the byf 41 with mixed Waffenamt Marks is the most difficult one to find for me so far. I still need a few more of the 31 to make a complete set. No one seems to know just how many mixed Waffenamt byf 41s are out there. The best guesses are a few dozen to a few hundred, but those are just guesses. I have seen one (that's mine) and heard of one other. Don Hallock has recorded six. The search goes on!! :) |
Wonderful Frank!

Frank,
I understand about the 39 dated S/42 as the 1939 year is the missing year in my III Reich P08 Collection !! Quite a hard time around here finding a decent one wherever it is a 42 Code or S/42....... I had a friend Collector home tonight with a table full of German Pistols, a few drinks & pizza.....even a late 44 K98 made it there.....We both agreed with the statement that the real thrill for the Collector is searching/ getting that next one !! ( and not necessary pulling them out of the safe to look at'em...) So it should be no surprise that I'm presently ``awaiting a few & negociating a few ``...... Togglt Top: you also have a NICE Collection !! ( and a nice Mauser Banner Sign ) Too many holes in my Mauser category now to be worth a photo :( MARK :) |
Frank,
<img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> 3rd Row BYF 44: a dual tone ?? It would be worth a presentation !! MARK <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> |
That's just cool. Keep it up and post 'em.
|
Toggletop, great collection you have there. Very nice display rack also. Did you make that?
|
Hi Frank,
Try doing a search on 'Mauser' on German ebay. You'll be surprised what you find there. :) They also have several websites http://www.mauser-office.de/ http://www.mauser.co.uk/ |
Frank & ToggleTop,
* Magnifico!!! * I'm still shy a couple; so, my quest goes on...as if I needed an excuse. Guess a few of my Banner's will have to fill the "holes" for now. Frank, * Fasinating to see the byf'42 P.38's "dusty blue", next to the byf'43 all blue, next to the byf'44 dual tone. After the deep salt blue of the P.08 byf '42's, have you any thoughts on why Mauser came up with this "dusty" blue on their P.38 byf'42's?? Chemicals, different polishing wheels, metallurgy, oxidation of steel b/4 blue?? TT, * Love that display stand & the mag storage slots underneath are a great touch. Good plan & great execution. * You both have collection examples worthy of supreme praise. Congratulations!! And...I'd like one of those and one of those and one of these and that would fit too and one of....oh well! * Thanks for sharing. Respectfully, Bob |
Awesome display; especially like the banner woodwork. very tastefully done and a enviable collection. You done us all proud!

Hello Everyone,
First I want to apologize if I hoarded in on Frank's post in anyway. It was not my intention. But when I saw Frank's excellent collection and display stands, and I know how much effort he put into acquiring the variations, I just could not resist to show more Mausers. I know there are those among us that consider these to be reproductions and I can accept that due to the fact I am a Mauser fan. I also like the other manufacturers pistols as well. But they tend to be a little dusty looking! I want to thank everyone for their complimentary comments and to let you know anything in the pictures made out of wood except the walls was made by me. I just think wood and lugers go together! |
You all have one of the nicest collections that I've seen. I love "same period" type collections like this.
|
Hey TT, not a problem with me!!! I just wish MauserLugers (Wild Bill) would post his group. I know he has all these and more nice, really nice ones. All others are also welcome to horn in!! I just love looking at them!! :)
