bling commercial .30 dwm
9 Attachment(s)
have run up on what I believe to be a commercial dwm in .30 caliber , as you can see nickeled an buffed to the extreme, owner knows nothing about it . magazine is marked 7.65 , but not sure if it is a 9mm or 7.65. have not seen it but is on an auction ending today , bid stands at 400.00 right now , thinking on it and wanted others opnions on it , ty what year was s/n 82544 pr0duced/
|
Almost certainly 7.65. At $400, you can't get hurt here.
|
it's a reserve auction , bid is now at 400.00 trying to decide what it is worth and if I am willing to pay it .
pitting looks pretty deep on the right above the grip |
I agree - $400 seems like a fair price.
If you like it, buy it. I would, but I hate the auction process, even on eBay. |
three more hours to go and still at 400. do not think most of the bidders even know it is a .30 just that it is a luger . this is a local face book auction group , so no fees or transfers . but I doubt I will bid much more than 400.00 for it
|
$400 seems reasonable IF this is what you want. If you are a serious collector or shooter, it will probably disappoint at any price.
Regardless, draw a "no matter what, I will not pay more than $....." line in the sand and stick to it. Or you may find yourself upside down quickly. Happy bidding. dju |

Only if you want a bling .30 shooter, and can stand the jokes.
IF the mag base is original and marked 7.65 it is worth having itself. Don't forget the cost of ammo, and the stories posted about problems getting the .30s to run. |
Keep us posted as to how the auction ends.

I, personally, would likely bid $425-450 for this luger if it was local to me without shipping/transfers/taxes. I don't see how you could get hurt financially. If you don't like the "shiny", then have it stripped and either cold blued, or ceracoted. It might just be a good shooter. My .02
|
I now own it for 410.00 and the seller delivered it in less than an hour . took it apart and cleaned it and the numbers not buffed off all match and no chip missing on the grips , grips are not numbered . I own no .30 luger ammo so be awhile before I fire it , cleaned up pretty good with a decent bore . so I am happy.

Congratulations, and enjoy!

excellent price

That complete chromed 9mm artillery upper is still in play...13 hrs to go...
It would make a great swappable caliber chrome addition to anyone's chrome collection... :D http://www.ebay.com/itm/German-Luger...-/141828404110 Presently at $420... |
congrats!
Can you post a pic of the mag bottom? I have an interest in that particular type of mag bottom... GT....;)

So many choices, so little time!! I think you did very well on purchasing this luger. If it turns out to be a good shooter, then even better. Hmmmmm, adding a total arty upper in 9mm would be interesting to me IF I were in your position.

I agree 100%. At $3-400, I would have been a player. |

looks decent in an old display box I had lying around , changed the grips to some black repo grips and a repo magazine . got most of a box of a .30 luger donated to me , so will give it a test run today and see how it goes.
|
test firing went well , only one ftf , second round fired . no issues there after , bore is only fair ,if that . but it does shoot.
|
Glad to hear that it is a reliable shooter. I own an alphabet Luger with a "sewer pipe bore" that is still very accurate!! It doesn't take long to clean a pitted bore, as one can not see powder residue, or at least I can't.

It has been my experience that even with a bore that looks like a sewer pipe that Lugers are among the most accurate guns ever manufactured... Just my $0.02
|
John, this one has the worst bore of any I have owned , and does seem to shoot well. so I do tend to agree.
|
having never kept a .30 luger before are the magazines the same on both the .30 luger and the 9mm?

Some few are/were "labeled" on the base as 7.65 or 9mm, but there is still no functional/dimensional difference. |

have fired all my .30 luger ammo , must say I am impressed with the way it shoots . very rough bore and still hits where I aim it , only a couple of ftf and no other issues . so I now own a bling shooter .
|
There are a lot of worse things in life than owning a 'bling shooter" LOL!!!
If you are not a handloader, then perhaps you might want to look into the surplus Finnish Military 30 Luger ammo being sold by Samco out of Fla. Some of us on this forum have purchased some and it works 100% for me, and David also. Just a thought. |

|
I forgot to ask if anyone know what year it was made . thanks
|

Glad I could help out. It is consistent ammo, at least it has been for me. I may well order a bit more at that price just to have around. |
also informed the shipping will be 21.00 for the 250rds
