Parking Habits of Rude and Inconsiderate Miscreants...
1 Attachment(s)
Way off topic, but should make for some laughs...I got this idea from a motorcycle forum I belong to ... I will start off this thread with an example experienced personally by me this weekend:
Here is one example of an inconsiderate jerk's parking excellence (remember this forum is rated PG, so keep your name calling within those parameters)... and no, the car didn't have a handicapped sign or license plates. :grr: Let's see some of your finds! |
This problem is prevalent enough to warrant a Facebook page......

Makes one wonder where the police are.

I am always amazed at how little footage they will gain by parking in an inappropriate spot. Many times there is a spot open 20 feet away...
Or they will park next to my newer Jeep. hey, I purposely parked way away and yet they seem to gravitate to it like a moth :) |
No pictures, but years ago, a friend of mine was waiting for the light to change to walk across the street at a street corner in NYC.
A cabbie stopped his cab square in the middle of the crosswalk. As a large number of people split to walk around the front and back of the cab, my friend opened the back passenger door, left it open, slid across the seat, opened the back driver side door, left it open and walked across the street. The cabbie made more noise than the crowd, which smiled with some sense of satisfaction... |

In fact, I don't FB, twitter or Instagram... and hope you all don't either. |

When one looks at what gets out of these parked cars, many times what they NEED is to do a LOT of walking, not the least amount!! |

I took this photo last November showing a local driving school car blocking two other vehicles in.

I have a confession. Back in the early 70s, after I had repainted my Volvo 1800 (Firemist Cinnamon and gold top), I was in the habit of parking 'way out in any strip mall lot where there were no cars. The time someone took the trouble to park right nest to me out there, they dented and chipped my door with theirs. Unbelievable. Well, out came my key, for some rough justice. Ah, the passion of youth...
If it happened now, I'd call the police. This would have been proper then, and I could have had the damage--albeit "minor"--fixed on the perp's nickel. |

I only have a facebook account defensively, to prevent someone else from opening one in my name. Never use the thing...
It's the greatest threat on personal privacy in human history! |

Not a parking photo, but here is one that got my goat in Dearborn, Michigan a couple of years ago....

I could only hope that he was actually teaching that lady how to change a tire on her own, instead of what it appears to be...

As a former security professional, I wholeheartedly agree. No FB, no Twit, no Instagram, no "social media" at all for me. I can't believe how freely people post their personal info. My kids think I am "too old", and "I don't get it", but the whole "social media" thing gives me the creeps. I wish I had the idea to start this though! I never thought this will get so big, and make this kind of money. Maybe I am too old. |

As a Security Professional I think its foolish not to have FB or Linkedin :D
My information is out there, what are they going to steal? I don't post anything that I wouldn't want my boss to see, nor my mother (who is on FB), and I use my po box for selling stuff, and the city as my home (yes, I am outed by my wife many times by her using the city) but you can only be so secure, then you are being paranoid. I simply live with the fear and deal with it :) ensure I have privacy settings, etc. Although they use personal info, its all out there anyway - you just have to limit what you put out there? Y'all sound - old - not secure :D |

Don't ever underestimate the old people. They didn't get to be old by being stupid, and they don't have much to lose. Kinda like R.E.D. (retired extremely dangerous) |
Sorry, not a selfie guy. I just am a long way from family, and it is a good way to keep in contact.
My wife says we are not old, my back says otherwise :) And my brother is a security professional and feels like John does, so he's in good company :) I just live dangerously :D |

As far as FB is involved I basically agree with Edward, I've got a FB account but I've never posted anything that I wouldn't want my boss to see nor my mother, although I don't have a boss and my mother died 6 years ago.
I never put much info about myself, and I'm very careful before I put a "like" on anything, but apart from that I think FB is a nice way to keep yourself in touch with ex colleagues and with various groups with common interests like photography, tourism, tactical shooting, companies like Wilson Combat, or tv programs like Law & Order... Okay... this is supposed to be a photo thread, so lets get back on my "off topic" and post some photos of the aberrant parkers you have encountered.

I tell people "I'm not on face***k, and YOU SHOULDN'T BE EITHER!". Aside from all the security concerns, these sites were all created for teenagers - and what happens on them is usually teenaged DRAMA. No thank you. And I *REALLY* don't get TWITter... |
Sorry I don't have any photos to share. But I know a few of you guys here have motorcycles. about 10 or so years ago I was parked in a spot at the Mall and from inside the store I saw a Tour bus pull up with appeared to be a group of people that were from another country. They gathered nearby in close proximity of my bike and then a few of them started to remove their coats and drape them over the seat and tank of my bike as some of them headed over to a bathroom nearby. I immediately went over to my bike said nothing and removed their coats to the asphalt. A couple people with an angry bewildered look picked their coats up, but a couple coats remained on the ground as the owners were still in the bathroom. The coats got redecorated by Metzler as I left.
