Uh,...what???

...I don't think I want that app...

If I put in my address into google and then clicks Maps and satellite view (earth view), I can see my mustang and my wife's Pacifica - it is usually several months old, but it does update....

So, its shaped as Saudi Arabia - I am a history major... not a geography major - and besides as an ad - any idiot could pick what they wanted, I figured your words is what you meant.. sometimes we take it literal what people SAY.

ooops, guess this got undeleted....

That's OK! I forgot to post where I saw this ad -

http://www.localconditions.com/

It's supposed to be a site that shows local traffic flow, but it's not as good as the Inrix-engined sites.

I just thought it was funny that my local traffic had an ad for traffic directions showing a Persian Gulf picture... :D

...Like I'm going to drive from Buffalo to Riyadh...

House photos

About two years ago...I was working in garage....car pulled up...it was County Tax Assessor.....nice lady.....we got to talking and I asked her what could I do to help her.....she said...."I want to take a look at your new patio out back.".......I asked her how she knew and she said....."Oh...by the satellite photo...and also you have a red metal roof and that really stood out ."........we had a nice chat....I gave her a cold bottle of water....and really laid the BS on heavy....she told me about some people would try to run her off.....yell at her...etc..etc.......I told her that would be a no-brainer for me if I was her.......their property value just went up $50.000 :) and she just laughed........smiled at me and said she didn't see anything to worry about.........sigh........ :)

rhuff 11-25-2014 03:56 PM

Hans,

I had a similar experience with our County assessor. I was nice and polite, but my property taxes still went up.....and also my rate for Rural Metro Fire Dept. The satellite photos tell these folks exactly what is what.

Google street view pictures show my old Mercedes S-Class in front of the house. Thought that was funny. The car only comes out once or twice a year.

The outside of the house can be deceiving. To really be fair in assessment, the inside of the house also has to be examined.

alanint 11-26-2014 06:39 AM

I'd let a Tax Assessor into my house over my dead body!

alvin 11-26-2014 06:58 AM

I am far away from 65, but I cannot remember what I had at yesterday's dinner... a serious problem?

===

Nah...You're pretty much guaranteed a delicious dinner/breakfast every day, as long as you do your own grocery shopping... :)

Yeah, mine do that too...I finally marked my calendar so I wouldn't forget...Summer inspections; so I wouldn't have to lay in snow to replace something...

[mini-rant] What happened to calendars??? Banks & insurance agencies used to give them away!!! Now I have to order them from my old union!!! :soapbox: (Rotating days-off calendars, color coded. Nice big squares, for notes. "Visit Doctor!")...

Last Summer a white SUV with a strange antenna and roof rack went by my house in the morning while I was drinking coffee and watching the cars go by (looking for a cool looking car to buy)...It came back five minutes later, on the other side of the street...Went by 4 or 5 times...Had a name on the side [don't remember now]...Some kind of mapping site...Taking street views...

So if you're doing a street-level view of my address, you might see some white-haired old coot drinking coffee and scowling at you... :)

I'm 54, and I can't remember what my wife told me to do today. That will be a problem for sure. :p

hansfischer007 11-26-2014 10:37 AM

Once upon a time, I enjoyed dinners. Not anymore. Now, I have to cleanup dishes after dinner. Very boring work, and I am lazy.

I enjoy dinners. I don't enjoy cooking. If it takes more than 5 minutes on "High", I generally don't bother.

Back when my parents were alive, I was picky about what I ate. Liver especially I hated. 16 weeks of boot camp/ITR, and another 88 weeks of active duty changed my attitude towards 'food'.

Now I eat everything on my plate and finish it off/wipe it clean with a slice of bread before dishwashing. There ain't no wasted food in my garbage.

cirelaw 11-26-2014 02:01 PM

I would suggest a Swanson Turkey TV dinner. If you are in the area we will save you a place. First course is Italian Wedding Soup to start~

tudorbug 11-27-2014 11:57 AM

I planted trees. They now conceal the entire back yard and a good deal of the roof from a satellite's eye.
