Me too. Jay

Ron Wood 04-02-2002 03:23 PM

Probably could round up a couple more! :)

Seems I will have a little more time to devote to Lugers and other stuff. After many years I have been put out to pasture! Layoff's are everywhere in the tech sector, and my number finally came up. Guess it is just nature's way of telling me to retire. Not much market for 63 year-old system engineers around here. Not to worry, Sarah and I will make out fine. I do hope to announce a significant addition to my collection soon if things work out. Stay tuned for further developments!

66mustang 04-02-2002 03:52 PM

Retiring is fine, but having to retire ..

You'll do fine!

Of course now you can work on that book you've been wanting to write... (All collectors want to write a book, don't they! )

Ed

Having to retire ......

I got layed off too, but I am blessed with a new job I love and lots of cool clients to help me keep pluggin along! ~Thor~

Herb 04-02-2002 07:59 PM

Count me in!

Really enjoyed the trip, got a little expensive on Saturday

afternoon but it was great to meet you guys and to see Ralph and Nancy again. Thor, are you volunteering to set up everything for next year??

Tracy 04-02-2002 11:30 PM

Re: Probably could round up a couple more! :)

Ron, they probably saw all those beautiful Lugers you were buying and decided they must be paying you too much. Actually a Pink slip like that is a badge of Honor, I got mine in 1996 you will find that you are much happier. Hell I started my own business and set my own hours, till the wife crossed me and had her stroke.

Re: Who wants to go to WOL 2003???

I plan on being there. Why should,nt you get a return ticket you were a good boy but maybe that was because Marvin was not there. He better make it this next year.

G.T. 04-02-2002 11:58 PM

Am having an early dinner with Ralph and Nancy, on Sunday night.

I will ask them if they are interested in an October-Fest event...

I have a corporate-office connetion to our Madison,Wisconsin office. If the October event is on, I will plan to have some great German "brats" shipped in...for the Friday night bar-b-que...

Brandon Metcalf 04-06-2002 09:17 PM

Re: Two Luger Fests Per Year ? OktFest

Now we have really hit on something. Lugers und bier. I have to wonder if ARIZ. would have any WEISSBIER? I don't think the airlines would let me put a case into my cargo suitcase. WEISSBIER, schnitzel, bratwurst, rotkohl, kartoffel salat, spaelzle, bier, liebe gott!! This is a fine idea.

Thor 04-06-2002 10:47 PM

Re: Two Luger Fests Per Year ?

October in Arizona is just plain beautiful! While there is not really a big collection of Autumn leaves (like in Hamburg) there is certainly a cool breeze in the evening air. I think a fall Mesquite BBQ, some tall bottled brews, a few stories and another look at some beautiful German Pistols sounds just about right!! (Since I don't drink, I will hold onto the pistols while you clutch those bottles). My beautiful wife, Linda, is jumping up and down in the background right now chanting "Oktoberfest, Oktoberfest, Oktoberfest!"...Nice goin, Herr GrĂ?¼en!
