Temporarily out of contact.

Ladies and Gentlemen.

I will be unavailable for approximately 10 days... I will not have access to phones, and will likely only have very sporadic availability of WiFi.

My guard dogs will be on duty at the house, and my house sitter has his CC permit, so I would not advise a visit in my absence... :D

Will check in and tell you all about it when I get back.

Y'all behave yourselves while I am gone, or Ed Tinker will bring the hammer down on you! :order:

Kind regards, -John S.

Edward Tinker 02-12-2014 09:51 AM

and the weather here is icky, so my temper is short :D

safe travels my friend

lugerholsterrepair 02-12-2014 11:32 AM

OK John! Look forward to a report! Hey Ed. 82 degrees here yesterday!

Sergio Natali 02-12-2014 11:55 AM

I wish you all the best! (whatever is the reason of your being "unavailable")

Sergio

We lease our home for $1300/mo everything included ie pool, lawn, water and cable. You can fish from our living room!

John D. 02-18-2014 06:21 PM

Well - I lease my home for $1300 a month as well - and you can even snowshoe out the back door..!!!! AND - as a bonus - all the servers/circuits/routers reside in my office above the garage - so you can bring this site (and all the others I host) "on" and "off" to your hearts delight..! In fact - you can even BAN Ed Tinker from those servers and systems..??!

Just sayin' ....

John

Hmm, looks to still be PRC, but in front of a Western-style government-looking building. Shanghai, perhaps? I would say Macau, but they look to cold to be standing in Macau...

Hong Kong would be warmer, too. My guess would be that they are still in N. China. Manchuria?

Background not ugly enough to be N. Korea, and certainly John would have more sense than to travel there!!!

ETA: Guess 2; Like Cirelaw's guess: Moscow, perhaps? Not familiar with the building(s) in the background, looks very SovBlock, with apt. buildings in the background for the apparatchiks...

Sergio Natali 02-19-2014 12:51 PM

Of course I was only joking about Disneyland!

Anyway to John Sabato and family: have a very nice Holiday
To John D.: thanks also for sharing the above mentioned photos
and to Eric: well I'm a bit envious, you seem to live in a really gorgeous place; here we are experiencding rainish days and foggy mornings.

Never mind let's wait for Spring.

cirelaw 02-19-2014 01:26 PM

Moscow!!! Red and Yellow flags in background!= The former U.S.S.R. ~~ Da??

318is_Parabellum 02-19-2014 01:53 PM

Trans-Siberian railroad journey?? Wow, that would be awesome! Want to visit Volgograd (fmr. Stalingrad) very badly...

ETA: True, T-S Railway journey takes about 3 weeks, if I recall correctly...

John D. 02-19-2014 05:17 PM

please send some of that 40 degree weather a little North and East.! We started off today sunny.. As of 2PM (two hours ago)? It's snowing again and still coming down hard...

I feel like I'm in Siberia... Even though I've never actually been to Siberia, I'm pretty sure Siberia feels just like this... Maybe.. Just saying... Sort of...

Nevermind...

The pictures show the conditions in part of Russia.

And people wonder why Napoleon Bonaparte had problems there.

cirelaw 02-19-2014 06:46 PM

Napoleon was short and was probobly buried in snow half the time!!!
