Ethiopians in Pennsauken; does Haile Selassie know about this??? :D
One of my handguns came from the Cross Roads Gun Shop; I don't know if they're still in business...I know I used to see the Pennsauken exit sign on my travels to Philly or Carlisle/Gettsyberg, but never visited... |

ECCSA was an importer that was located in Pennshauken, New Jersey. I don't think they are still in business.
BTW, FWIW, I lived in Ethiopia for a year a few decades back... and I didn't see a single Luger while I was there... |

Photo #4. Beretta?

Yes.
Except for the spurious Death's Head, it looks like a fairly nice 1940/42. Way to ruin a nice collectable. |

In this case the decongestants I am taking so I can breathe have made me a little loopey... my reading retention is a very short time span at the moment. No deletion is required when you are my age anyway... you just forget you read or did something... :roflmao: |

Do a Search here for 'death's head' and 'totenkopf', that should bring up several long threads and a banned member or two... :D Deaths Head Lugers, Russian Contract Lugers, and Spandau Lugers are all real...And thought provoking... |
Ron and all:
Look at the 3 acceptance marks and the 1 TK on the right side of the receiver. All the Eagle 655's and bird look extremely fresh, straight, even, etc. Unusually perfect, even finish with bluing in each line, each line at an even depth. etc. Assumng that this is post-war skulduggery, how do you think that was done? Was this whole thing welded up and restamped with bogus (sharp) stamps, reblued, etc? I'm not trying to put anyone on the spot, but I'm trying to learn not only to spot a fraud, but to understand the processes used to manufacture it. Thanks for indulging me... dju |
I'm not that much of an expert but to me those marks look far too good to be true!

You'll have to describe the mags...I won't live long enough to load 131 pics... :( |
It is very well photographed, with the mag. photo being toward the end. But to the point, the mags had a serial number, no suffix and a "1" or a "2".
No visible acceptance marks. dju |
seller should get his asking price just for the photo efforts he took. kidding, tho

All the receiver markings are too large. They should be about the same size as the original eagle proof on the barrel. Th

So do you think that it was welded up and re-struck? dju |

it might be a good time to review a few of the parts that are numbered; I love these pictures the seller has taken. I need to know what kind of camera or software he's using

not that easy to squeeze all those 131 pictures, but this is good enough to get a general idea I think. :biggulp:

I have a question (and thanks for posting the pics here!)...My 1937 S/42 has no Eagle waffenamp on the base of the stock lug...Should it??? Or is this an aftermarket addition to the sellers' Luger???
